I am amazed how you open my life nd my daughter we just created and published our first coloring book we made in 2 days, I am already working on #2, all thanks to you, I am starting from beneath scratch believe me and i was able to improvise between my photoshop knowledge and my daughters photoshop express from her arts university classes, she is in el Salvador and this will change her life for ever, am doing it for her, she is my pride and joy, and this is our rejoice, once i get this number 2 out, I will share how we improvised with literally no money to spend at first, none, which may help others as well once I make money i will subscribe to the places you recommend here so it will help you and us, is the way life should be, helping each other, God Bless Ms. Hung.

There is also a super easy, convenient, cheaper way to put them together once you've gotten the pages.....and that is self binding and self publishing....not through amazon but directly on your own site. When you think of spiral pages you think of planners and notebooks. But if you turn it landscape, calendar style, the whole perception changes so you can do landscape, spiral bound, or even just long stapled, and DIY on demand, self printed, and you can buy pre punched perforated paper in bulk. I get the hype of amazon making it easy for publishers but the downsides people don't acknowledge out loud is you can diy on demand your own books. Nobody is selling a bazillion of them at a time. Take the orders, make the number of copies you need, ship them off. Amazon takes so much of the money you have to highly overprice your work to make chump change. I'd imagine if you sold a book for 9.99 you'd want at least 9 bucks profit right? Instead, because amazon is "free" you'd have to charge 30 bucks to make 9 profit. If you sold coloring tablets or coloring notebooks, or long stabled coloring books straight off your own site for 5 bucks, you'd keep all of it. Amazon doesn't promote your books. Amazon doesn't fulfill the orders unless you ship it all there to begin with. Amazon takes a huge cut for its services, nickels and dimes you over every little thing. Same with Etsy......everybody flocked to etsy to set up a shop...but etsy is an arbitrary, unnecessary middleman. Etsy doesn't fulfill any orders. Etsy doesn't package or ship orders. Etsy doesn't pay shippping. Etsy doesn't promote or market your stuff. Etsy just gives you a catalog, buries you in with all the competitors, then takes a cut for doing some checkout function. You could eliminate etsy since you're doing it all yourself anyway and keep all revenue. Just sharing a solution!

Thank you for making the video with so much clarity. You mentioned about the images from the Publisher Vault, I purchased the first month and there are lots of images and background in each of the packs, but there may be one useful out of 7. In the first month pack which I received lots of images/characters with missing limbs, aggressive nature characters, backgrounds full of lines, seems like quite outdated materials - so one may not find what they are looking for months and cannot rely that if I want to do a book this week and I can use some of images. Bit disappointing, thanks

Just FYI friends, I signed up for the publishing vault. You can only use the art you download if you keep up your monthly $27 membership. Once you are no longer a member, you can't use any of it for kdp or anything else. They are $67 a pack if you buy them outright. :(

This is incorrect. If you've uploaded to KDP then yes you can keep the books up there. However you may not use the graphics again for any other project. This is stated in the terms. For the quality in the vault...$27 is a no-brainer.

Hi this is great for sizing however when you are making your book sometimes you can move the margins. So I recommend either keep the little squares on each page until you complete the full design then delete them. Or bring the squares back at the end of the design and double check all your margins by moving the little square to each page. both methods work for me.

I do not quite understand how The Publishing Vault works. If we all pay the membership and download the same folders monthly... how is it that we can have singular designs in our books? Aren't we all going to have the same designs? I'm sure there's something I'm missing.

You are right, I tried it out and it doesn’t work at all. We all get the same designs for the folders we are assigned. To make things worse, most of the drawings are not suitable for coloring books

Amazon KDP scammed me out of nearly $4000 dollars. They never provided the media promotion that I spent thousands on because Amazon did not accept my book and they knew Amazon did not accept my book. They weren't done they tried to scam me for $1100. to get a copyright that only costs $125. It was all scam.

Thank you for your excellent video, which provided valuable information. However, I had a negative experience with The Publisher’s Vault, which you recommended. After choosing not to pursue membership with the $1 24-hour trial, I received an aggressive email threatening to cancel my KDP account, which I don't have. This was surprising and concerning, as I have no intention of selling colouring books or anything similar. It is sad to consider potential members dishonest and have bad intentions. Maybe The Publisher’s Vault should reconsider the trial period approach.

Thank you for kind comment and for your question. Are you using publisher vault images for your cover? If so, there shouldn't be a quality issue. However, if you are using AI generated images, then you would need to upscale your images before using it for your cover because the resolution of those images are lower so could result in grainy cover images if used without upscaling. I would recommend using the Canva upscale functionality to upscale your images on the cover and try to publish it again. Hopefully that will solve your quality issues. :)

@@ivyhang5084 It was approved! Thanks so much. Do you have a video that explains the difference between low content and medium content books on KDP, and what the real difference is? I just published a coloring book, and they gave me the free (bar code?) but I also published a low content prayer journal and they did not give me a free barcode, but they still put a barcode on the book, and they did not bill me for it. So I don't understand what the difference is. Well, I see that on the listing for the "medium content" coloring book I do get sample pages shown on my listing and for the "low content" prayer journal I get no sample pages shown on my listing, nor is my back cover shown. I am working on a mental health journal. Because I am a clinical mental health therapist, it is more than a journal, it is 50% real book! How do I make sure that is not categorized as "low content"? Sorry for the long question. Thanks so much. Glad I discovered your videos.

However, I am concerned that at 31:46 you toggle that you own the copyright to the demo coloring book but at The Publisher's Vault FAQ: Q: Can I Claim Copyright on Products I Customize? A: While customization is allowed, it does not transfer copyright to you. Can you explain how you can toggle that you own the copyright on the KDP upload doc? Thank you so much!

Your tutorial is great in that you take time to go through the margins set up and the term bleed. Now how do I create a coloring book cover when my images do not have color examples to use on the book cover. I have tried "coloring" my black and white designs by using canva paint but arthritis prevents staying in the line and making it appear professional.

Thank you for your kind comment! Glad you found the tutorial helpful. It is always tricky to be able to have the colored images for the cover after you design your coloring book in b/w. You could check out Publisher's Vault (link in video description section) to see if that might be helpful for you -they provided images in both color and B/W - hope this helps! :)

I was all set to begin with KDP but before I started I did an online search for user reviews. I found an abundance of 1 star reviews for KDP. Most reviewers reported that Amazon had terminated their account and were withholding the royalties. Can you tell me your thoughts on this?

I have certainly heard of these types of situations but I personally have not experienced this. I think as long as you abide by their rules and make sure you don’t have copyright issues etc then generally you should be fine. I’ve also heard of many situations where ppl are suspended but just temporarily so it’s definitely a resolvable situation in most cases. All in all though, kdp is great because it’s one of the few things you could do with no capital investment required upfront (aside from tools needed to create your book). Hope this helps!

Hi don't use the publishers vault, you get charged a monthly fee and then have to pay for any packages! Ranging from $17.00 to 47.00!. The additional fees wasn't mentioned! I feel conned. Beware! 😢
