This video teaches you how to create Vyali Latha, a beautiful decorative design used in Kerala Mural painting. Vyali (Yali) is a mythical creature seen carved in temples. The body part is that of a lion or leopard with a long tail. Depending on the head / face the name of the Vyali changes. Eg. Vyali with a lion face is called 'Simha Vyali', Vyali with an elephant face is called 'Gaja Vyali' and so on.
There are 16 different forms of Vyalis. They are considered to be the protectors of the temple. This video shows you how to paint a Vyali with a latha design coming out of its mouth in traditional Kerala Mural Painting.

തുകലശ്ശേരി മഹാദേവ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ അടുത്താണ് എന്റെ വീട് . അവിടുത്തെ ചുവർ ചിത്രം കണ്ട് ഞാൻ പലപ്പോഴും അതിശയിക്കാറുണ്ട്. ഞാൻ paintings ചെയ്യാറുണ്ട്. ജന്മ ശിദ്ധമായി കിട്ടിയതാണ് എങ്ങും പഠിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ചുവർ ചിത്രരചന പഠിക്കാൻ ഭയങ്കര താല്പര്യമാണ്. തുകലശ്ശേരി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിെലെ ചുവർ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ പുനരുദ്ധരിച്ചു കൂടെ . ക്ഷേത്ര ഭാരവാഹികളുമായി സംസാരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ വളരെ നല്ലൊരു കാര്യമായിരുന്നു.
