Great lesson. I'm used to doing everything in grid view with the highlight/Shift button. You just made my work flow much easier! 🙏

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I only recently discovered the erase function after have my Live II for over a year and even still I was only using it to erase entire tracks. I never thought about using it for certain pads/specific bars the way you explained. SUPER helpful!!!!!!

Excellent video. Since getting the MPC One, I've been loving the hands on tactile experience. So much so, that when in controller mode despite the limitations of the MPC Software (sort it out Akai!) I'm creating my best stuff in years and hardly touch the mouse.

What are the most frustrating limitations you find?

@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE Sidechain or routing options would be nice, automation of effects parameters on busses/send channels, vst3 support (I use VST3Shell as a workaround. Fine on instruments but vst3 effects can be hit or miss) and some random CPU spikes and crashes can kill the vibe...though I am running a tired PC so that's probably my fault lol.

That was a way of working with the tracks I've not thought of before, thanks for that super tip. Btw. Next Seq? That's Song mode in the Main Menu, right? Looks similar. You see I got the Akai Key 61 and it doesn't have the Next Seq Button as a shortcut, but from the looks of it I'd say it's a short cut to "Song Mode"? They all use the same MPC software as far as I can tell.

Yes I think the Next Seq button just takes you to Song Mode.

Dope method! But let’s say you accidentally copied a sequence and want to delete the whole copied sequence what is the function for that?

You can do that in the sequence edit screen. I think it just says “cut”

I generally avoided erase and just muted tracks and edited the sequence tracks as needed. I guess I need to take another look at erase.

😂 I do like the software because you can just double click a note to erase OR select and delete with the mouse - but in standalone it’s slightly different but still MPC great!👍🏽

Track Mutes is definitely the easier approach, but there's more than 1 way to skin a cat.

This is NOT how you do it.. You go to Track Mute and just and leave the tracks you want "Off" on mute.. That way you can add or subtract tracks EASILY .. smh...

I’ve been doing it the Mute was as well, but this approach could be used for different purposes.

I was just getting ready to comment this myself. Track mute is easier. The Erase button comes in handy with erasing things like automation
