I crossed one item off of my quilt bucket list recently when I attended AQS Quilt Week in Paducah, Kentucky. What fun it was and what a nice town too. Grab a cup of coffee and join me as I tell you about my trip, do lots of shopping and talk about the show.

When my kids were young we drove to Bowling Green KY to visit the caves. It was pre quilting days. Well I took a course when I was not a parent but put my quilting desires aside to raise two sons. I’ll need to check this out.

Thank you. I was born and live in Kentucky. However, I live in the Foot Hills of Eastern Kentucky. I have not had a chance to go to that quilt event. If I every get a chance to go, I'll try to remember to view the quilts first then do my shopping.

You were remarkably restrained in your purchases at a quilt show like that. I haven't been to that one, but I've been to the Houston show. Drool. I have been to Paducah on a family trip from Texas to Michigan, so while I was looking in Hancock's, my husband and son were waiting for me (pressure!). I missed the quilt museum. Bummer. Your video makes me want to go back.

Oh I would love to go to Houston. One day hopefully! I hope you get back to Paducah. It was a lovely trip for me and I hope to go back too. And I agree, thinking back I probably would have gotten more fabric at Hancock's but I had a budget too. Thanks for watching and saying hi!

@@CreatewithClaudiaThe trip to Houston was back in the late 70's or early 80's. The charter was a great way to go for the comradery and getting dropped off and picked up at the door, so parking wasn't a hassle. The stop in Paducah was in the mid to late 80's, and unfortunately I was navigating, I got us lost and we ended up on a long, rickety, narrow bridge that was part wooden. Then I got us lost when we left there. When my husband finally stopped for directions the person he asked was really baffled at how we'd ended up there given where we started and where we were headed. Ahhh, good times.

We've been down 3 times. They have greatly improved the store since the 1st trip. We bought several pieces but I wanted some Dr Seuss fabric, got 12 different ones. But we were down probably the week after you were there. It is a cool store
