Creating a 1 to 25,000 scale Custom Map for a Garmin gps

Using Anquet Mapping to create an xps image, converting it to a jpg image, and then in Google Earth using the Image Overlay feature to make a kmz file. A tiled version of this file can then be put onto your Garmin gps as a custom map.

Hi mate where did you get the mapping from to make the custom maps? Looking to make custom map for works purposes of the Salisbury training area

Hi Gavin, On my video I'm using the maps on my GPS in BaseCamp. You can capture a jpg from any source. Bing Maps have OS maps at 1:25,000. Use Windows Snipping tool to cut a rectangular section you want. Tip: once you select a rectangular shape your screen turns pale wanting you to capture an image. You can temporarily suspend this by pressing escape on your keyboard. Get back to your map (using alt +tab) then make the snipping tool active with Control + Print screen. Save the image, then Overlay in Google Earth. Remember to hold Shift down to size your overlay without stretching it.
