Great tutorial. One thing to note though is that if you have existing projects created on the Blynk cloud server you will have to modify the sketches to point to the local server. You will also have to clone the projects into the new local server account. At least, I couldn't figure out any other way to move them (other than starting from scratch).
@SidsEClassroom8 жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree with you on that.
@SidsEClassroom8 жыл бұрын
You can try and create a shared access link for the projects on the Blynk Cloud. May be that will save you the pain of starting again from scratch.
@peterkent63998 жыл бұрын
Hmm, thought about shared access but problem is that I think you can only share existing projects - which in my case were on the cloud server. Cloning is quick and easy but of course costs you "energy". Not a big deal unless you have multiple complex projects (which I did not). Thanks again for the tutorial.

Hey Sid, since I found this very useful, you should probably state that the new android app has a different port setting...I know a lot of people will be very confused if their app will not connect to the local server! Or if you are having the time, you could probably do some tutorial on how to install the latest version of the Blynk Server? Hi Sid, first of all: thank you for your tutorial, it really helps! I am getting some trouble connecting the app to the server ( what you do okay at 18:50 ) , the app in the iPad says " sorry, server can't talk now, try later". The only thing that did not go like in your video before that was that the "server.properties" file did not say the same things as yours. Mine says : #provide either full path to files either use '.' for specifying current directory. For instance "./myfile.crt" server.ssl.cert= server.ssl.key= server.ssl.key.pass= While the one in your video ( 14:38 ) says : #provide either full path to files either use '.' for specifying current directory. For instance "./myfile.crt" server.host= server.ssl.cert=./server_embedded.crt server.ssl.key=./server_embedded.pem server.ssl.key.pass= is it normal ? do you think this is why the iPad cannot access the server ? Thanks a lot again !
@SidsEClassroom8 жыл бұрын
I guess, you are trying to login into the local server with public server credentials. For local server, you need to create a new account. In the app, click on create new account, then click on the icon just above signup (3 dots and arrow), toggle the switch to custom and enter the server ip and port details and then click OK. Now enter your email and password details and click on signup. Now you should be able to login into the local server. Regarding the server.properties, i generated my own custom certificates and hence have those extra lines. If you have generated your own certificates as shown in video then you need to add those lines. Hope it helps.

Hi Sid The server works fine so thanks for that! Unfortunately on my Raspberry Pi I cannot connect to the server, I keep getting the following message when I try to connect: Connecting to: 192.168.1.117 8443 SSL authorization... SSL not authorized And this message repeats itself until I press Ctrl + C to stop connection. Any Advice?? Thanks, Jarryd

+Jarryd Naidoo Hi, You need to signup separately for the home server. First time when you connect, choose signup instead of login. And then toggle it to custom server.

@SidsEClassroom8 жыл бұрын
+Наиль Каримов Looking at the command prompt snapshot, i think you have used the "Open Command Window here". For certificates, u need to run cmd as administrator.

Sid's E Classroom sorry I got that... brother I am working on an iot project is there any other way we can make an iot project
@SidsEClassroom7 жыл бұрын
IOT is a very broad term. Its like saying that you want to cook. But what ?
@SidsEClassroom7 жыл бұрын
There are numerous ways to go about it. Arduino and Rpi have maximum number of tutorials or instructables.

Please visit the blynk website or their forums.. They have plenty of basic information that you are requesting.
@thechariotvideos56548 жыл бұрын
Can you please edit the video as at 7mins 50secs you show "/path" and this is an absolute no, no which will result in users loosing all their projects. Blynk guidance notes have been updated to reflect /path is not literal and for Windows users it means drive letter, folder, sub folder so something like C:/blynk/server/ with Unix (not Windows) forward slashes and certainly not /path. Same applies for Unix users, do not type /path but enter the pathway based on the your filesystem.
@SidsEClassroom8 жыл бұрын
Thank you for intimating. An annotation has been added for the same.
@SaurabhGangamwar8 жыл бұрын
your are right .if path is like this c:/users/username/Blynk server this will cause errors of adminstration
@thechariotvideos56548 жыл бұрын
It is much worse than that, people are actually typing "/path" which doesn't exist. This creates a tmp folder on the Windows machine and over time the tmp folder is likely to disappear along with all the Blynk projects created by the user.
@thechariotvideos56548 жыл бұрын
The annotation is incorrect, it isn't can it is MUST as there is no place called "/path" in Windows and the syntax of actual dataFolder is Unix style forward slashes not Windows backslashes.

Hi, really nice video!! But I'm having troubles with openssl see... www.screencast.com/t/XlIllqzuDQ cmd says that don't recognise openssl as a command or instruction, but I've already instaled openssl 64bit (cause my computer is a 64 bits one) I'm pretty sure I'm missing something but dunno what. I'll be really thankful if you could help me. Please C:

+Jessica Piedras Hi, i had a look at the snapshot, unfortunately, i could not understand the language. If you could translate the error it will be helpful. And can you check as to whether the OPENSSL has been added to system variables. Kindly get back to me on teh same.
@JanneRoe8 жыл бұрын
+Sid's E Classroom the error says: "openssl" doesn't recognice as a intern or extern command, software or executable file. I have openssl configuration in my system variables www.screencast.com/t/xI66DFP2w
@SidsEClassroom8 жыл бұрын
+Jessica Piedras Ok, from the looks of it, i think you are running the command prompt normally, you need to run command prompt as administrator.
@JanneRoe8 жыл бұрын
+Sid's E Classroom I've ran the prompt as administrator and is the same error message.
@SidsEClassroom8 жыл бұрын
+Jessica Piedras Fine then, in system variables, you will find one parameter called path, edit the path and add the following C:\OpenSSL-Win64\bin now it should work

+ahmed desawi the "F" in "dataFolder" should be in capital. And regarding the openSSL, the openssl has not been added to the environmental variables.
@ahmeddesawi81898 жыл бұрын
sir, how are you today? thanks for your help. you are right about "F" and after I write this command in right way this message appears and there is nothing after that as pointer don't write any thing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Blynk Server successfully started. All server output is stored in folder 'c:\Users\Ahmedmaarouf\Blynk Server\.\logs ' file. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ openssl was added to environmental variables. so what else sir?

s22.postimg.org/46vb0bwlt/Capture.jpg as you see in picture there is no pointer and the next step is paste first ssl cmd commands.
