Great video! I think what would be interesting would be to tell people what are your color management for your prject settings when doing this, it's really confusing for people
@ChristopherChaconYT10 ай бұрын
Hi there! That is totally valid, I’ll make sure to include that in my next video. For this one though, my timeline color space was Rec. 709 Gamma 2.4 and Color Science was Davinci YRGB 🙏🏽🔥
@Guiiigzz10 ай бұрын
@@ChristopherChaconYT thanks for answering mate! You don’t use custom processing mode to work in davinci WG? I’m trying to use davinci WG/intermediate in the input dehancer profiles to have the better signal to work with Quite confusing for me these times 😂
@ChristopherChaconYT9 ай бұрын
@Guiiigzz honestly, confusing even for me! I’ll try to dive into it and get more familiar!

Great video. I have question - you have stuning graded video in intro section. Running guys in front of trees, and ladies crossing bridge with surf decks. Do you have lesson how to achieve those gradings? I filming a lot of nature videos for myself and trying to achieve such level of richness of green color - but never able to achieve it :(
@ChristopherChaconYT4 ай бұрын
Hi Stephan! Thanks so much for watching and commenting, I appreciate it a lot! I got you, I will start working on a new color grading video just for you! 🙏🔥 I'll do it without using dehancer and focus on achieving the rich greens you like, anything else you'd like to know?

@@ChristopherChaconYT Hello, Christopher! Thank you for reply! Personally for myself I like 3 of them - down by priorities: 1) interesting ladies crossing bridge with deck - because there is several big objects (trees, lake, bridge, people, sky) and all those objects are in different color range and very rich/saturated in good way 2) Guy running in front of trees 3) also very beautiful grading - ladies on a stadium (I guess at the beginning of intro). 4) I also like grading in movies such as: Billet Train (modern cinematic) - very interesting; as well as it would be interesting to understand technic how picture from modern camera can be graded into something we see in Grand Budapest/Asteroid City/The French Dispatch. I found some videos which improve green forest for example, but in most cases it destroying sky and or lake for example and in general full picture becoming dark. On your first two examples above - picture is rich and you haven't lost the brightness so it still looks natural which I like. Thank you very much!

Hi, great video and learning moment for me. My question, clipping indication works only when exposure is changed in dehancer and not in the exposure node?
@ChristopherChaconYT11 ай бұрын
The clipping indication works with both. So if you make adjustments on the exposure node, you will see it highlighted red when toggled on, so you will know it's for sure clipping the highlights. :)

The only thing that confuses me and i haven't found an answer to till now is; if you want to white balance outside dehancer, do you do it before working in the dehancer node or after? Thanks in advance!
@ChristopherChaconYT5 ай бұрын
Hey JB, I like to do my "White Balance" adjustments before the "Dehancer" node, think of it this way, the earlier on the grade you do it, the cleaner and more accurate the adjustment will be. Sort of like how RAW footage works, you do the adjustment on the clip first, and then get to color grading, hope that helps!!

Nice video, but you managed to make that sm7b sound very cheap.

Haha you’re probably hearing the parts of the video that were not recorded with the sm7b but rather a lavalier microphone! I had to record this with mixed audio sources and try to match them. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏽🔥

dehancer just completely destroys my image. not sure why
@ChristopherChaconYT3 ай бұрын
Hey! Thanks for watching!! & that’s odd, do you know which processing mode you keep it at? At the end of all the tabs in the plugin, youu can switch between “Normal - Fast” and “High - Slow” and what is your timeline resolution & footage resolution?
@halfgraincinematography24 күн бұрын
Sorry but in my opinion the final image neither looks good nor close to the reference. Way too much saturation, skin is way too bright, overall missing the analog feel..
@ChristopherChaconYT9 күн бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! Color grading is definitely subjective, and while I understand this look may not align with the reference one to one, I felt it suited the overall vibe I was going for. It’s also worth noting that factors like set design, wardrobe, and lighting all influence the final image. I appreciate your input!
