Such insightful wisdom from gohar, who I admire a lot. I'm 43 and started with classical guitar a year back. Her thoughts on how age can affect our level of playing is really pertinent.

Yup, I like how she phrased it. I personally also think everyone can learn at any age. You must believe in your ability, be persistent and obsessed with your guitar goals. But also mix in little bit of the realistic expectations in terms of reaching mastery, while learning in our latter years. You might also have to adjust your strategy learning as an adult. But that said, I never like to put a limit on anyone’s ability. Because there is always people who defy the odds of what is “possible”. 😉

It was a brilliant interview. Gohar has opened my eyes again. I now understand why my lack of progress has been none existence. I used to practice 4 tom5 hours a day and my progress was great but now I lack motivation and my practice has not up to standard. Playing not practicing. Again brilliant interview.

In my humble opinion, don't think 3-4 hours is necessary to advance once you're at a high level....Two hours a day and you''ll still conquer difficult repertoire in a reasonable time.... But Gohar is a awesome player!!

It depends on the amount of repertoire you want to play… and how much of it is new vs old…
