I have a question. All my fields seem to be correct but for some reason when i fill it out and submit information as a test message, when i check my email practically no information is sent in that email to me. What am I doing wrong?
@wplearninglab7 жыл бұрын
+GraffKing21 It sounds like the email in the email tab in the CF7 form editor isn't set up properly. The easiest thing to do is to first click into the email editor area and then click on the variables that are listed horizontally above the email editor. That will input the proper variables into the email. Click on all the variables, save and send another test message. If the email data is in the test message then customise the look of the email. Let me know if that doesn't make sense.

Thanks for this video! I have used CF7 for years on my website and I love it. It's so easy to use. I'm designing a website for a client and they wanted file uploading abilities for guests and absolutely couldn't get it to work. The problem was on the mail tab, I needed to insert the correct tag under file attachment. A problem that could have been solved in 5 seconds and took 2 hours. This video made me realize I was just missing a small step. Thank you!

Why did they make a contact plug-in that makes it almost impossible to receive the mails in the first place?
@wplearninglab7 жыл бұрын
+Sam Kiranga Yeah, I understand what your saying. But believe it or not, the vast majority of CF7 users have no problem receiving emails. Most of the time when it doesnt work it's due to hosting server configurations. You can try these two tricks to send emails via a different method or save the entries to the WP database. Alternate sending method: kzbin.info/www/bejne/naLNpmCMgtChZ7s Save form submissions to database: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5PMl3R9r7d4ars I hope that helps!

@wplearninglab4 жыл бұрын
Hi Khan, Inside the CF7 form builder you will see the shortcodes for each of the fields. I side the shortcodes you will see the word 'required'. Delete that and save the form and then the asterisks will be gone. Be aware, people will then be able to submit the form even if they don't fill in some of the fields. I hope that helps, let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for watching!

+Antonia Lüdeke Hi Antonia, what youre looking for is called a Tooltip. I found this plugin that could do it, but I've never tried this plugin before: en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/magic-tooltips-for-contact-form-7/ If that doesn't work you may be able to find a general Tooltip plugin that has shortcodes you could add to the CF7 form builder. If that doesn't work, as a last resort you could use jQuery to get Tooltip into the form. I hope that helps and that ks for watching!
@antonialudeke43807 жыл бұрын
Hi Bjorn! Thanks. :-D I had no clue what it is called. Tooltip! This makes it much easier. Installed the Plugin directly. Questionsmark doesnt show up, it is weird box. But I will check why and check other possibilities. Solution is closer.
@wplearninglab7 жыл бұрын
+Antonia Lüdeke The 'weird box' may mean the question mark image is not loading for some reason. There was another plugin I found when I was googling it, but it's not in the WordPress plugin repository, so use it at your own risk.

Hi how do you customize the 'send' button color & text appearance? is it possible to change the font size of the field labels too?
@wplearninglab7 жыл бұрын
Hi DaNeng, Paste this CSS into your style sheet. The comments after the CSS rule explain what the rule does. input[type=submit] { padding:15px 45px; /* button size */ background:#FF0000; /* button background color */ color:#fff; /* text color */ font-size:30px; /* text size */ font-weight:bold; /* text bolding */ border:0 none; /* button border */ cursor:pointer; /* cursor appearance */ -webkit-border-radius: 5px; /* border radius - compatibility */ border-radius: 5px; /* border radious */ } To change the font size of field labels use the CSS below. Just change the px number to make the labels the size you want: .wpcf7 label { font-size:20px; } If you want to increase the size of the input field's text you can use this CSS: input[type=text] { font-size:30px; } I hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Thanks for this. When they enter their details on the contact form, is there a place where all subscribers go on the website so as to have a database of all subscribers? Thanks
@wplearninglab7 жыл бұрын
+David Fahy Fitness Hi David, unfortunately CF7 isn't designed to collect subscribers so that you can email them later like you would with an autoresponder service like mailchimp. So their emails aren't stored in the database. If you don't want to use a service like MailChimp your best bet is something like MailPoet. I hope that helps and thanks for watching!

WordPress Tutorials - WPLearningLab thanks again. I used MailPoet. Really good & easy to use. However when I design an email & test send it works perfectly. Then when I subscribe through the website like a customer would as a test, it auto sends an old auto email I first designed. I have deleted this email & everything but still won't auto respond with the correct email I want it to. Any suggestions?
@wplearninglab7 жыл бұрын
Hi David, Just to make sure we're on the same page. The email that is sent when someone signs up is a just a plain text confirmation email that you set up in Settings then Signup Confirmation. That would be sent to everyone who signs up, as long as you have the confirmation option set to Yes on that page. You can create a new email and set it to send automatically when someone signs up. You've done that, but it's still sending the plain text email, is that correct?

@wplearninglab7 жыл бұрын
+Ayaz Shah Hi Ayaz, if you're not using WordPress and you want a static contact form you could find contact form scripts online. The form will be HTML for structure and CSS for appearance and PHP for accepting the form input and creating/sending the email. You may also need some JavaScript if you want form validation. I don't have any tutorials for this and I don't have any on hand. I'm sure you'll be able to find something on KZbin though.

@wplearninglab9 жыл бұрын
+Kalum Nanayakkara Hi Kalum, there are a couple ways you can do this, but it depends on the actual HTML code in the form that generates the checkboxes. No matter which method you use, you will need to use jQuery to detect how many check boxes are selected and limit them to 4. Are you able to paste the code into the discussion here?

Flamingo gets around that by putting the email message right into the database and presenting it in the WordPress dashboard. I hope that helps! And thanks for watching!

thanks a lot sir .i want to change the size of textbox,date,tel,email fields how can i do that sir
@wplearninglab9 жыл бұрын
+pranav shinde Hi Pranav, you can do that using CSS. If you fast forward the video above to 6 minutes and 20 seconds you will see how you can add an ID and a class to any field or button. You can then style those fields with CSS. Once you have the IDs or Classes in place check out this tutorial over at SitePoint for form styling tips: www.sitepoint.com/style-web-forms-css/ I hope that helps!

@@wplearninglab Thanks will do. I am all set for now. I normally don't deal with plugIns or WP and this video helped for sure, it's for a friends business website, I had to uninstall and reinstalled. I just upgraded his WP from 4.xxx to 5.1 this was helpful for sure. Thanks again.

HI, I have an actual webpage with a contact us form and I want to create another contact form with a drowpdown menu. My web objective is to look for two targets, one new clients and the other one for new participants. Can I duplicate the actual contact us form and add the dropdowns menus? It wont affect the actual contact us forma that I already have?
@wplearninglab7 жыл бұрын
+Miguel Cordero Gonzalez Generally, you can only have one submission form per page unless you do some custom JavaScript or PHP. To differentiate between new clients and new participants could you have a radio button on the beginning of the form so they can choose which on they are?
@miguelcorderogonzalez48847 жыл бұрын
Thanks, but if I made two separate pages one with teh basic contact form for clients and another contact form for new partcipants with more details and dropdowns menus, it would be all right?
@wplearninglab7 жыл бұрын
+Miguel Cordero Gonzalez Yes, that'll work just fine. You can have as many separate pages with forms as you want as long as you only have one form on each.

Great, I'm on my way of making the second one. Thanks for your quick answer and for an awesome tutorial.

Hi thanks for your instruction. I've a little problem maybe you can help me out. I want a short subscribe form and when a person clicks on subscribe they redirected to the long form. How can I do this ? Hope you can help me out.
@wplearninglab8 жыл бұрын
+Cherdar Avi Hi Cherdar, if I understand correctly you want to have someone fill out two subscribe forms in a row, is that correct? Technically it's pretty easy, but you'll have to offer a good incentive to get someone to do it. Technically, make two contact form 7 forms and put them on two separate pages. Then download/install a CF7 redirect plugin (like this one: en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7-success-page-redirects/). Then redirect the first form submission to the second form. I hope that helps!
@cherdaravi45798 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I don't know if that can work. Maybe I try to explain it better. I have a website for subscribe on courses, in the first page they see a form(short form) with 2 inputs where to learn? and when to learn?. When they click on subscribe they goes to a another form (long form) with the input of the previous. So they see the value of previous input and they fill now the other inputs(name, surname and more..)

+Cherdar Avi That makes more sense. Contact Form 7 isn't your best bet for they functionality injured you want to write some JavaScript. For advanced applications like that I recommend Gravity Forms. It's a premium (paid plugin), but it is powerful and awesome
@cherdaravi45797 жыл бұрын
Wow thanks for your reply!, have you any tutorial of Gravity Forms ? I can buy the plugin soon. And another question can I add payment method with the Gravity form ?
@wplearninglab7 жыл бұрын
I don't have any tutorials, but they're on my list to create soon. Gravity Forms has 3 different pricing tiers. Each one comes with different add-ons. The $199 per year tier (which is the one that I use) comes with all the add-ons available including the ability process payments through three different types of PayPal accounts, Authorize.net and Stripe. Just go here wplearninglab.com/go/gravity-forms/ and click on "Add-ons" at the top to see the list.

I know this is not the topic of this particular video, but I am now in the works of doing a taxi website for my company using WP... do you know if there is a way to make a website booking connected to the site? (so that the visitors can book via the website) and lets say I want to book 10/09/2018 at 5 pm,,,,,, but that is already taken by someone else (or no cars avail) can that be shown as (unavailable)??? love your vids!
@wplearninglab6 жыл бұрын
Hi Felix, you can build integrations like that. What I would do is research booking services that allow you to embed their calendars into WordPress. So you're not really connecting WordPress to the booking system, you're putting the booking system right in the site, does that make sense?

Now I have another issue :( in my Additional Headers: I got as you do Reply-To [your-name] Still says adress in the field has invalid syntax :S I did a custom form using some html Upphämtningsadress: Datum och tid för upphämtning:

When you save the form and go to the "Mail" tab in the form builder, it will show all the shortcodes for the fields near the top of the Mail tab. Based on the code you put in the comment you should see one like this [E-post] That is the email address that should go in a "To:" field. The To field is the email address. I hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Thank you for the easy tutorial. I constantly have to check my contact page after an plugin update, it usually changes the short code on my contact page so your tutorial helps as a reminder how to go back and copy and paste. =) Question: How do I remove the Leave a Reply box on my Contact Page. I can't find the option to remove comments or replies from that page.
@wplearninglab7 жыл бұрын
Glad I could help! As for removing the ability to comment, go into the WordPress editor for the page. In the top right corner there's a little button called Screen Options. Click on it and then make sure "Discussion" is checked. This adds a "Discussion" meta box at the bottom of the page. Scroll down to find it and uncheck "Allow Comments". Then save the page. That should do it. If you want to know more about the screen options check out this quick tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gInZgX6lpLuGfJY I hope that helps and thanks for watching!

The last page is the contact page with the form but cannot for the life of me figure out how to lighten the background around the contact form without changing the black background of the other 6 pages..I want to keep them black?? Thank you

Hi Lars, Sorry for the delay in responding. Our third child arrived 12 days ago and it's been a bit of a gong show around here 👶 You can do it with some CSS. You can use the selector .wpcf7 to apply the CSS just to the form. You can add the CSS under Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS This may be all you need to paste in there: .wpcf7 {background-color:white;} These two videos and the associated blog post may be helpful: 1. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHzEo3ZmhrRopck 2. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5aQe5WPnL51idU I hope that helps and thanks for watching!
