I've been an acoustic musician for years and always procrastinated on creating music with DAWS and controllers. When I did finally dive into it very recently, Kenny Gioia became the go-to knowledge base to keep me advancing. I'm paying it forward by creating free music lessons for people who otherwise couldn't afford it. Huge thanks to Kenny for the excellent tutorials!

quick tip I don't think you mentioned.. in the Sampler5000, you can use the dropdown menu under the waveform to cycle through the samples in the folder you're in so you dont have to drag and drop every time, you can use your keyboard arrows with one hand and midi keys with the other.

Wowwwww amazing. I was watching a tutorial on this subject where they were using a different DAW and the process was a pain. Reaper is just a marvel at this in speed, accuracy, and ease. Good thing I'm a Reaper user. Thank you!

Great one again Kenny, very well explained, many thanks for the effort ! I never really used the gate-open and gate-close settings in the Dynamic Split window (always used transients method) but what you showed is way better, a real eye opener !

this is simply awesome if I have the same kick samples recorded with different velocity: do I need to add (copy/paste FX) for example 8 different items to the ReaSamplOmatic5000, and then assign the same Note and edit different velocity range to be captured? I can't test it right now, that's why I'm asking how would you go about it

Do you know how to do choking on a open hi hat to closed with imported sounds? I can map my Nitro kit to the XR20 with choking ability. I am lost on this. I tried note beginning and end but that didn't work. Adjusting the velocity is tricky but might need to be tweaked for each drum sound.

3:06 is it possible to first order the items by volume before batch/file item confert? I'd like to you use this method for layered samples so the file numbering make sense.

First thanks, as always really nice...but, do you know if is there any setting in media browser that allow more than one click in the sample? because sometime we want to try several times the sample, but when we click on it twice or more ,it goes into the track or just don't make any sound anymore...thanks again.

I need a kickdrum sample to setup latency. Where might I get one? I really just need the kickdrum
@alm59664 жыл бұрын
Once you've created a 'kit' with the Sampler, can you save it out as a package that you can simply import into another project? I'm thinking of creating a Rock kit and a Reggae kit then just be able use them already made in a new song.
@leafsoup4 жыл бұрын
On windows you can save the FX chain as a preset, I'm sure there's a way to manage this in Mac
@treblemaker693 жыл бұрын
I was wondering about saving the setup also. Leafsoup helped me out big time with the FX chain info. I was under the impression you would have to reload ReaSamplomatic every time to use the FX chain, but that turns out not to be the case. You just put in your saved Samplomatic FX chain on the track you need it on, and all your settings are saved. Very handy, although it does strike me as odd that a function like this is treated as FX. Took me a minute to realize that's what's going on.
@treblemaker693 жыл бұрын
@@leafsoup Thanks for this info!
@autobotsNdecepticons3 жыл бұрын
@@treblemaker69 There's a lot of odd stuff in the way Reaper handles things. The options for "takes" are a particularly infuriating one for me. They're so close to nailing a great take system, but then the issues in how it actually works with real human performances and overdubs turn into major time sucks. Oh well.

Please Mr, can you make a video where you explain all the possibilityes about working with videos in reaper ? For example i should like to know if exist some script or free plugin to add for make possible to render videos in Xvid format. Or if is possible to record a webcam directly inside Reaper, .... i have an old version of the Daw because i have an old old old computer and those possibilities are not present by default in that version, but maybe with some add that i don't know ....... :-) Thanks a lot if you respond

the second method, where you drag from drum machine to snare etc. is not the same in version 6.13. Part you drag is not there. Hmmm. cant figure it out. I have the track and the snare had pin outs of 3/4 but dont know what to do from there to get the snare to be like in your demo cause the rest differs.
@normanlove2224 жыл бұрын
I was able to figure it out using the overall logic. Copy snare by dragging to new snare track. Then right click on volume and create a new hardware output and assign that to the ne 3/4 outputs. I also had to copy over the megababy vst with it.
