Creating a Godly Vision For Your Marriage - Clint and Penny Bragg

After being married to each other for less than two years, Clint and Penny Bragg’s marriage shattered to pieces. Clint discovered Penny was involved in an emotional affair with another man, and both of them had undealt with issues from their childhood. They divorced just before their second anniversary and didn’t speak to one another for 11 years. After redirecting her life to Christ, Penny felt promoted to reach out to Clint and to send him a letter of apology. She did, and less than a year after reconnecting, they remarried.

Sixteen years later, they are “marriage missionaries,” helping couple around the world get closer to God and to each other. They encourage couples to serve God together, get in step with God’s commands, combat fear, and defeat the enemy’s attacks in every aspect of their marriage.

Clint and Penny were used of God to help guide my wife, Debbie, and me back toward the restoration of our marriage. We were divorced for 6 years with no contact the last two. During that time, C&P prayed for us, came along side me in my darkest moments, and when the Lord opened the door to restoration, they came along side both of us culminating in them joining us for our re-marriage in 2013. They have continued to be there for us as we encountered further challenges. God is using them to touch so many lives.

This is truly a "OH WOW" jaw dropping story, unlike anything I have ever heard. Eleven years! Who waits eleven years? Please don't take this the wrong way, because this is an amazing example of Jesus relationship to His bride, the church. I wish more couples would understand the Covenant a marriage holds, and, if divorce should happen, they (couples) would allow time for healing and reconciliation too take place. The biggest mistake we make as humans is that we focus on time frame. Time to move on to the next happy adventure or person to add to my happiness all while still broken and things so unresolved. Our God does not operate under the constraints of time. Wow. My only question I'd like answered if you feel comfortable being totally transparent. Did the both of you have other, what you thought, meaningful relationships in the eleven year gap? Thank you for sharing and may God continue to bless the both of you. I am looking forward to reading your book.
