could you make larger front tracked loader or a 6x6 semi truck with a motorised trailer that holds something like a tank or a front tracked loader (TECHNIC) ON TOP! i attempted the second idea but i did not have enough power as i used 1 powered up XL motor for drive and one L motor for steering ive just broken it apart to get the XL motor out and fit 2 instead of 1 but its kinda getting anoying and making things compact isnt my strong suit in lego.

Good design! Try to replace each switch and make it switchless. You can control air flow bending each air tube. This will make it more efficient, with less friction

Thanks ! Yes I know, I used it already on other engine for the first time 3 years ago. But the aim of this one was to be built with regular LEGO piece without the needs the cut precisely the hosed and tuning. Less effective but easy to build. 👍

I noticed the new gray large pneumatic cylinders no longer have any air flow restrictions, so they might be useful for a much faster LPE.

Its been almost a year since i have done anything with legos, and i just purchased a lot of cyliders, so im now back up working with my legos. I have to watch a lot of videos about these engines again since i remember very little since its been over a year since i touched my Lego technic pieces. Thanks for the vid!

@Nico71Fr
@Nico71Fr 10 ай бұрын
if the pressure is well distributed over the cycle (no locally overpressure), the tube can support the pressure. You can also add a beam 1x1 around the connection to secure the hose for high pressure.

What are the advantages of using a scotch yoke instead of a camshaft? Wouldn’t the added friction and play from the scotch yoke reduce speed, efficiency, and power?

@Nico71Fr
@Nico71Fr 10 ай бұрын
In LEGO, mainly size, and the play on the dead point enable to have more freedom to the other cylinder to pass their own deadspot, as the timing is 120° which is not perfect for non modified switch (a 90° would be better). On theoretically ideal engine, the scotch yoke creates perfect sinusoidal movement which is better than a crank/rod to avoid vibrations.
