This is super helpful to me since this is Day1 of my transition from 2D (CorelDraw) to 3D with Sketchup 2014. The steps are the same and it works wonderfully. Thank you very much for posting these clear instructions!

Hi, I made a dxf in Ai but in SketchUp in the Format selection I do not have AutoCAD Files (*.dwg. *dxf). Help please? Anyone? Thanks

I haven't got the pro version.... how do you make the logo really smooth? Looking at the bottom of the "U" it looks very jagged and does not have smooth lines. I presume the Illustrator file is very smooth. Is there a way to tune how smooth it will import vector?

Unfortunately, sketchup doesn't draw true curves. it fakes its way through them with many line segments. I recommend drawing at a bigger size first and scaling down if you have a lot of curves. You also can hide the edges to make it all look more smooth.

+Theodore Yamada-Dessert, sorry for the delay! I didn't know that I had made this tutorial public. Did you ever get your answer?
