Fun fact: Chainsmokers smoke actually does do something mostly it gives anybody who inhales it (for a limited time) the phobia of being trapped like being trapped in a locker and that is Chainsmokers special effect he will force you out of lockers quicker than normal so your theory probably isn't far off. (edit: This is also confirmed by the way)

Ackshually the ingame prisoner seems to have claustrophobia since when you get pushed out of the lockers and interact with one it says "you need to calm down first" i think chainsmoker just triggers the phobia with the gas .

The Angler is actually the only Angler that was kept in captivity, the variants appeared after the lockdown. We have no idea how or why, but we know that they didn’t exist before since Chainsmoker produces the same smoke from Paranoia’s Box, a box kept in heavy containment that is covered in invincible chains, making it unopenable. The box produces fumes that when inhaled causes many different phobias, one of them being Cleithrophobia, the fear of being trapped. This fumes must be filtered out through fans and disposed of, or else they will cover the whole facility. After the lockdown, Sebastian came across its containment cell and disabled the fans, which is why we can’t stay in lockers for too long, and why Chainsmoker’s smoke causes us too leave, since the more we inhale it the worst the effects get.

i think chainsmoker is what you get when you cross the angler with "box of paranoia" the fact it has green smoke that makes you panic more quickly. the fact that it has a distinctive noise of rattling chains. the fact that the box of paranoia has both of those details. it is an angler that has consumed a box of paranoia. btw, the model looks awesome, like chainsmoker just broke out of the box of paranoia and is now haunting the halls of the blacksite.

It makes sense that Chainsmoker looks like a de-pressurized blobfish instead of a pressurized blobfish because, despite taking place deep under the ocean, the water around the Hadal Blacksite has a pressure similar to that of a swimming pool. So Chainsmoker is in SEVERELY depressurized water, therefor it looks like a depressurized blobfish

Chainsmoker, Blitz, Pinkie and Froger all only appeared AFTER the lockdown, with no known explanation for why they appeared, the closest thing we have to an answer is an angler ended up Inhailing the fumes from Pandora’s box, which emitted the same fumes as chainsmoker

Fun fact: All of the angler variants are probably a few days or weeks old. This is because after the Hadal blacksite breach, the angler document doesn't register the variants before the lockdown. Meaning that the angler variants were nonexistent until the original angler escaped and "cloned" itself. Still, Your 3D model looks sick and its kinda giving me claustrophobia just by looking at it.

I have 2 theory’s for chain smoker. FIRST chain smokers gas make the target hear things mostly chains. SECOND chain smokers gas was SO toxic that they had to chain is up. Z-13 AKA Sebastian unchained him. Sebastian didn’t take all of it off so the chains shake making the sound of the chains.

Personally my theory for chainsmoker is the smoke he emmits came from paranoias box (the smoke causes phobias including claustrophobia and the fear of being trapped cleithrophobia) my theory on the reason he is so slow is that due to him being a blobfish in a low pressure environment causes him to be extremely slow and he would be incredibly fast outside the let-vand zone (an abyssal trench with the same pressure as a swimming pool after a certan point) (Ps chainsmoker and the other angler variants where doscovered after the blacksite lockdown so chainsmoker wouldnt have been chained by anyone also if yo do pinkie or froger they are both female and the only angler variants that have lures) also if you can please do froger next

Hadal blacksite decided to ecperiment with a blob fish, a dead one to be specific to see if they can not only bring it back to life in that form, but also change its genetics and add on things to it, but it unfortunately failed like the others, but it had something different with it, it produced smoke that clogged everyone's vision, he was so much of a problem they had to chain him up and have a group watch it in their cell, the constant screaming, moans and groans of pain annoyed them so much they took their anger out on it, yelling things like "SHUT UP" and "I WISH I WAS NEVER HERE" due to how annoying it is to watch Chainsmoker and make sure it does not escape Thats my "FANMADE" Story on Chainsmoker lol

Blobfish look weird on the surface because of the pressure you mentioned, which holds their body shape together underwater. When they lose that pressure their body loses its shape. Also their bodies are covered in slime or mucus, which is why they appear super slick or shiny outside of water.
