Very nice tutorial! Nice to see that devtips is back alive :) I saw one small error in your code: when setting the innerHTML of your counter to the span, you are not closing the span ;) chrome is smart enough to handle that, but in larger components this can lead to problems :) Looking forward to the next tutorials!

Hello, It's cute that you would comment about your looks. I don't care much about that but but do get slightly bogged down with side details like that plus-plus syntax. You sometimes try to be a little too thorough in the small details. You can assume a little more of your audience. This is good content. I bet a lot of react developers (including me) take these (not small) basics in how react works for granted. A good follow-up would be how bundlers put all this together - just an overview. Thanks.

Outside of KZbin, I work exclusively in React as well. I want to do some advanced videos, but to be honest, I'm not sure how to do that without alienating those that are beginners, especially since nowadays a lot of people skip the basics and go straight to frameworks and libraries. Bundlers are definitely on the list, and in the works already though :)

Hi, you declare the variable counter in your component. Why do you pass this as an parameter to the function instead of using the variable within the function?

Purely for the sake of teaching the value of passing a parameter into the component. I'm not really able to teach advanced stuff here on DevTips just yet - because I needed to get past the beginner type of content first :). In the near future, things will be much more tidy.

Already more natural in front of the camera, but try not to look at it all the time. Think you are talking to someone in the flesh, you don't stare at him straight in the eye all the time. Other than that, great job. By the way, the sound is very good.

Video was useful and exactly what I was looking for, but ffs dude, try not to ramble too much! You keep repeating yourself and that makes the video longer than it should be. Please, don't take this personally as I didn't say this in bad faith, but still, I'm sorry if if I came out way too rude!
