My dad always taught me to go to the range with a goal. Always has been good advice that I don't always remember. Thanks for this!

Play a couple of holes and discuss course management. For example why it doesn’t make sense to hit driver on a par five when you expect to lay up.

Great video. I agree about range time before playing. You're on the range to get loose and see which swing you brought to the course. Before playing or whilst playing is not the time to "fix" your swing. Play with whatever shot you brought that day... that will keep the tension lower and therefore the scores will be lower.

This whole series with Dana is fantastic. Really enjoying these videos. Hope it continues! And hope there's more videos like this coming!

I have an idea for a video that I think you would rock. Find the 18 hardest holes on the PGA tour and play them as one round. Might involve quite a bit of traveling, but it would be fun to watch you take a crack at them! All the best!

Keep a notebook and write down your thoughts pre and post range sessions. I do this everyday i go the range. When i have a lesson, immediately after i pull out my notebook and write down everything my pro told me. I think writing down your emotions, thoughts, feelings about golf 1). Helps you develop your game 2). Is somewhat of a stress reliever. It’s a way to get your frustrations out and a way to catalogue your positive thoughts and memories.

Great stuff EAL & DD. We definitely want more! Would love to see a pre-shot routine and the whys behind it!

This is exactly what I want to see. Also, how do you know if the pre-shot routine is right for you.

I need a Dana in Sonoma County - love watching this. Go to the range with a goal has changed my practice and my rounds. Zen golf too - every shot is a new shot, play it as the first/only and let it fly. Also, 17b

My tip. Go to Top Golf with your clubs and document how far each of them are. I keep mine documented in my game book so I can quickly review once I figure out my distance. I adjust my numbers as I change clubs.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Very informative and beautifully shot as always. Plus a tiny non-intrusive and yet memorable Ad at the end, perfect!

Absolutely love this series! As a 12 handicap who's never had a professional lesson I find this extremely helpful. Any chance you could make a video about how to intentionally draw/fade a ball? I'm very good at unintentionally doing it but would love to learn how to control that.

Thanks for the vid.I'd love to see the correct process for building a bag and when you might swap a hybrid for a driving iron or 5wood for 3wood etc, also a "preflight checklist" for on course of things to consider would be great. I always find myself forgetting 1 factor here and there.

I would go more in depth about the importance and purpose of a pre-shot routine. As a coach, it is one of the first things I talk about with my students to build that consistency.

Love this series and the channel in general so first and foremost, thank you. My question for this series is how do you find the right instructor for your approach to the game when most instructor's bios read like a resume of accomplishments rather than their approach to the swing?

With the amount of travel that EAL does, I can't imagine that he would ever have the time to go to the range.

Going to the range is about working on your swing. If you’re not working on improving a specific thing in your swing you’re arrogant and going nowhere in your golf game. Even the pros continue to build their swings on the range.

Great fun golf video as always. Small quibble. You’re a beneficiary of Dana’s knowledge and instruction, not a benefactor...
