I liked the full on tutorials, like creating a website from start to finish. Seeing how it all ties together and not specific stuff like create a slider, carousel or whatever. Preferably it would be pure html and css. Like learning the underlying theory and then when you use a framework you know what is going on under the hood. Those were the tutorials I enjoyed the most from Travis.

I liked how Travis was more than just a code tutor. His personality was part of what made the channel great. He would share his perspective and values with us and talk about why he was passionate about his work. He focused on showing us "how" to do something but always kept in sight "why". His mission was to teach people code but he also wanted to meet people and talk with people and naturally grow relationships. There wasn't a sense that Travis was ever forcing a community to form, and that's what allowed it to be something special. I think when you make content that really connects with people, that could happen again. This is all vague and wishy-washy, but hopefully, it's somewhat helpful! Good luck, and keep on hacking!

I personally like videos about building real life applications (or anything cool really) focusing on the front-end, specifically js. And tutorials here and there definitely help.
@OfficialDevTips4 жыл бұрын
Good to know. Can you give me an example?

Thank you for reviving the channel! Wish you the best Jay! I would love to see more of front end (pure JS with css/sass etc) and awesome design videos on this channel. Additional topic could be on testing with libraries like sinonjs etc

Devtips channel is like an unwanted baby being passed from one to the other, and no one has time to look after him. So sad... I hope this time it will come closer to the level, when Travis put his heart and soul into this channel. Fingers crossed :D

These diversions with HTML and CSS are fun! I wish there was more of a point to "drawing" with CSS than to just say you accomplished it. To me, it's far more useful to create the drawings in SVG so you can use them more consistently anywhere on the page. Maybe a tut on how you can use this HTML/CSS only version beyond just being centered in the viewport. Make it animate? Some next level user interaction? etc.. thanks!

Yes! That's coming. More animations and how you can use it in any website or web app.

Your videos are so good! I am getting into web development, but the hardest part for me so far is CSS. I don't know how to make my websites look nice/appealing, and even if I had an idea, I would have trouble coding it with CSS. So I would love it if you could do more CSS tutorials like this one.

Don't worry. We will have a lot of more videos using CSS. But take a look at our past videos about CSS.
