I have goals of having an apothecary cupboard one day. I've been growing more herbs then dehydrating , infusing etc and creating more salves, creams etc more and more . I have tiny echinacea ready to plant out ,grown from seed too. Plants are so useful. I learned so much recently about medicinal and other uses just of the humble sunflowers . I added those dehydrated leaves into my shelf. Thank you for sharing all those treasures. 🥰💙

Well presented, thank you. I recently purchased some mugwort and want to learn more about it. Maybe you could share a bit about each herb and your own personal reasons why you use it. That is to say, if you would want to do that. I have books, but I love personal testimonies.

What essential oils do you use will be helpful to know since so many brands claiming 100% organic and they are not.

I use Naked Press, a small Australian company and occasionally Doterra for oils I can’t get with Naked Press

Hello Elissa Jayne, I just stumbled across your video. I thank you for sharing this. I am just starting to set up my apothecary. I am so grateful for the information. I start to get organized and then I get to a standstill. I walk away and then look for inspiration. You my dear lady were that inspiration. Thank you! By the way, my niece's is Elissa as well. I subscribed.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE AESTHETICS OF THIS ROOM!!! Is this your kitchen? Do you put herbs in those wine bottles??Please make an in-depth video on how you organize these herbs on your shelf and how you rotate these things out. I love this way of life so much, but don't know where to start and just end up feeling overwhelmed. This was a great video, beautiful and informative! Thank you so much!

@tmc1373 My step dad is a herbalist; some suggestions; go to your local library and start studying on which herbs would benefit you, take time to research fully. My mother was vegan before it was popular. She had terminal cancer. She was given 6 months to live -she lived 13 years past that date due to educating herself and not listening to the so called experts. She went to American biologics in Mexico where she learned everything from detoxification through mud baths, wheat, barley grasses, natural skin care with the use of plants. Also The Gerson Institute; Then she and my step dad went on to Optimum Health Institute (OHI) in San Diego, California where she learned to do far beyond what is shown in this video. I will say it is extremely expensive but their view was being proactive about your health is the greatest gift you can do for yourself and teach your family and friends that are open to it.

@@minihomesteadcooking I get it from local grocery stores. It is usually in the baking aisle with the supplements. Right now have the Bragg brand.

Great video! But I did notice that you did not wash your herbs. Is there a reason why? How do you get the bugs off or any debris?
@MoatCottage3 ай бұрын
I water the day prior, to wash them clean (not that they have chemicals or pollution on them, where they grow) that way they can dry without wilting and I don’t have to wait a long time for them to be fully dried, when filming, before I can make the tincture.

What is the best soil to grow herbs in
@karlau1084 Жыл бұрын
Herbs are generally not picky; most will like well-drained soil, but they do not need (and often do not want) too much fertility. Mediterranean herbs will generally want better drainage than other herbs. I have grown herbs in the high desert sands and in the heavy clay of the southern US. Be aware that some herbs, like mint, don't really care what soil they are in and will try and take over in most climates. Good luck. Enjoy learning.
