Beautiful! I sometimes use a bit of white kitchen twine to lay in the gully & absorb the liquid which migrates there. The resulting colored twine is useful in all sorts of projects! You can even arrange it over a wet page and the color will reactivate and transfer.

Thank you, I had been wondering g about using Infusions for a background, but wouldn't have thought to use the gesso first, so this is very helpful. Can I ask do you stick your base book pages together in pairs or use them just as they come with the tape in the spine etc

I'm glad you found it helpful. Yes I usually stick two pages together, it makes them stronger. I always use books which have sewn signatures and take out at least half the pages. This allows for mediums and papers on the pages. Have fun 👍
