Creating Ciphers can be fun, but understanding how they work by using a simple example of developing a cipher is a great way to understand them. This video covers the development of a cipher algorithm and shows how to make it (nearly) unbreakable.

If you're still curious think if the alphabet in a flat line. Each row goes sideways with the alphabet lined up in accordance with the letter youre looking for. So the rules here are as follows... First letter of the message is h. (Given letter) Always start counting sideways from the space directly below your message letter. The number of letters between your given letter, and the letter to the right of the given letter shows you the placement of the next letter of your message in the row below it. If the letter to the right of your message letter is higher in the alphabet than your message letter, count the spaces directionally to the right in your next row. If the letter to the right is lower in the alphabet, count to the left. (Hopefully that helps and doesn't further confuse)

Speaking my jams dude. Wild how you go right into what I am adding in my own commentary. And ya, happens while conscious during the day too. You strike a drum in the studio and a guitar on the wall will hum the same frequencies. Since my last head injury, this stuff has gone right out of control, and with the sleep issues, breathing and doing what you describe is a nighly, and often morning routine deal. Just found this great video. I have one concern: after all the exercises, in the end the plain text is still only hidden within the cipher text in a sea of other letters. That makes it more steganography than cryptography. Though a simple letter substitution can deal with that.

Dr. Eaglin, I suppose you have heard this before but I have created a random transposital code, using M.S. C#. My feeling is that transposition approaches are actually evaluated on their longevity, could the analyst break it in 500 pages of text or only 1 page of text? Is there interest you know of by a group who would be willing to give my system a try? In referring to the Enigma, I have studied it and would say that no one ever actually "broke" the Enigma but actually correctly took and used the knowledge gained by parts of the machine being stolen from other units and then listened and noted frequently used German words with a brut force monitoring for those words using machines. I feel the Enigma didnt prevent an enemy from reading text but more likely delayed the ability to read it.. How much delay? That was the question. I was lucky enough to work Crypto equipment at two stations for the US Navy with kw26/kw14 and kw7's, all of which are now declassified and decommissioned after1994. if you can create it it can be cracked. if you not know password try again. somehow still systems let you try millions times. 3 attemps its should be blocked for 24hour lol unless contact admin. if you admin no problem just rest try again 3 times lol. bruteforcing password should not be possible (login) bruteforce password protected files is fine lol
