Poach seeds. I grabbed seeds of sunflower , goldenrod, and others I can’t name from nearby fields in the fall. Then I used old plywood to kill an area of grass. Sowed the seeds and now have a very inexpensive wildflower area in my garden.

Echinacea is a good perennial . Coffee grinds with crushed egg shells scattered around the young plants deter the slugs .

Very cool. I interspersed my veggies with perennials this year, with perennials and bulbs planted last fall and veggies now. Would love more info on native plants in Utah.

I totally understand this feeling 😂❤ I work at a nursery so I grow thousands of plants every year and spend all my time making sure that our customers get their gardens planted on time… which means my garden is never planted “on time” 😅 Also, the landscaping around my house is veryy unbecoming of a professional grower lol. I will definitely be following along.

@@yardfarmerco We have a LOT of grass and I’m tired of mowing it 😒 we also have about 30 mature Bradford pears 🤡 their babies are popping up everywhere… they’re driving me insane. The previous owners made some questionable landscaping decisions… but I’m excited to design something new ❤️

I'm probably down a street or two from you and will be stalking you (on KZbin and Insta, don't worry) for all the tips on native plants to grow in SLC. My yard is much shadier than yours, so I'd love to see tips on what to grow in partial shade around my borders.

Nice to "meet" you! We'll be doing lots of content about just about everything, but I'll make sure to add good shade plants to our list of projects!

Bat box? I’ve yet to see one that actually houses bats! I’d love to hear a success story.
