Creating and Manipulating Civil 3D Sample Lines

By default, the sample lines created in Civil 3D are placed perpendicular to an alignment. That said, if your design requires “skewed” or “multi-segment” sample lines, they can also be created very easily. In this session we’ll explore how to create (and edit) sample lines that meet most any need.

is it possible to create sample lines that can accurately track the boundaries of my cut and fill slopes? I had a tough time modifying my sample lines width trying to get then to be big when needed and short in areas that did not require to much fill or cut

I would love to know this too. At the moment I do this manually by eye but maybe sample lines that vary based on a position of a point code could be implemented. Perhaps a rule that says the sample line width is 0.5m wider than the 'Daylight' point code position.

Hi, I need to rotate several sample lines at the same time. I have some troubbles with section views when I use an offset subassembly for example because the section corridor doesn't shows in de section view. I solve this problem by rotating the sample line 0.01 degrees. But I need to do this among 300 sections.. Thank you for your time!

sir i have one questiin. when we create sample line n make x section fron these sample lines. in x section view draw 2 surfaces one always represente design surface n other one represnt OGL surface. here my queation is can we get Ogl point report at sample line on surface for whole alignment Ogl surface.? its posible or not if it is posible please make a video for the same. thanks
