Working as a standalone mixer, you can just run the output of your Push into your S8 and bounce back and fourth. The remix decks were essentially Ableton for DJ's as well, NI is just understanding their demographic. "Producer DJ's" tend to prefer Traktor, while "DJ DJ's" are hard up on Serato/CDJ's

Probably works perfectly fine wit the F1 controller too ? Because i got one of those, but it came out quite some time before they introduced the software update .

Can you pre compress the stems and bypass the compressor on the stems editor?, I mean like mastering the stems on ableton and then render each mastered stem by itself. Would it work?

Would you please link that stem creator you demo'ed? Thanks! Looked all over the NI site and searched with their search bar but couldn't find it! Great video!

Am i missing something here, how do you split the imported .Mp3 file into a master and 4 parts in ableton live.
@moskva-kassiopeya9 жыл бұрын
Do I understand correctly: when we play a stem tracks with all the faders up - NI plays the master track which has all the compression and limiting which we already applied in ableton but as soon as we move some of the faders down it starts to using NI compression and limiting on the separated tracks instead of playing our mastered master track? :) I apologize for not being word-perfect in English

If this is the future as you say, why is the Stem music site down and unable to download the Stem creator tool.

I just downloaded the STEM Creator earlier today (I didn’t even know that existed), but it definitely works as they say it does.

It's amazing to me that people are getting excited by this, or have trouble understand what stems are. It's nothing more than a four track recorder! Maybe only people young enough to never have had to use a four track cassette or reel to reel deck are baffled by this.
@pointblankmusicschool9 жыл бұрын
+Christopher Orth Multi-track reel-to-reel were rarely commercially available, so it's exciting to that extent. But no, it's not baffling.
@ChristopherOrth9 жыл бұрын
+Point Blank Music School Multitrack cassette decks were extremely common and affordable though, and early digital recorders were often only 2, 4, or 8 tracks. And technically, one could just run Ableton or an iPad with only four tracks and achieve the same thing. So while this may indeed be something functionally beneficial for many people, it's still in essence just a simplification of technology that has existed for a long time. Smart move if it pays off.

Not until now have we had the ability or technology to seamlessly mix multitrack recordings together...
@patrickbooth87666 жыл бұрын
a four track reel to reel is tape, this is all digital in the box without the need to wind up tape. This is great for me as a producer because I have loads of stems of previous projects that I can incorporate into a live set ontop of live sampling with a remix deck. Absolutely revolutionary stuff here.

I can't help but think that all this "stems" buzz is nothing but a marketing move so companies like NI can sell more "controllers for DJs to edit the tracks and feel like they are doing more than just Djing". Just my 2 cents.
@pointblankmusicschool9 жыл бұрын
+kozihoppy Well Stems is an open format so right now it's only in Traktor but could potentially be in any software like Ableton, or any that wants to support it. It's not just about NI
