Fun fact most of the entities are known to represent SINS, for example: Carnation=Lust Slight=Envy Slugfish=Greed Elkman=Gluttony Heed=Pride Sorrow=Wrath Dozer=Sloth So I would like an entities that are similar like SINS. Example would be from Dante Inferno: Limbo, Hersey, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery. Limbo would most likely be a room entity which will isolate the player (most likely the player who is in front) you most likely teleport somewhere a monochrome forest where you need to find 8 door to get out. (The door will glow to show where it is in the forest.) Fraud would be similar as Dupe from Door and “the good people” from Pressure it would most likely a green exit sign that will fool the player will not instant kill you. Violence would be something you can attack it an entity you can attack by flashing with the flash light. Hersey idk go along with ridiculous high belief like which craft or religious corruption Treachery would be a shortcut that will slow you down with “frostbite” every time you kept using it and have an entity chasing you due to betraying the path that god gave you.

According to the dev: eight evil thoughts, being the seven deadly sins/capital sins are not what the game is based on. Carnation isn't directly associated with the sin of lust, it IS directly associated with the first sin of mankind which is similar to the sin of lust, Slugfish is both gluttony and greed, elkman, heed, and slight have not been associated with a sin, I forgot about Sorrow and Dozer. I love the idea of this game being like Dante's Purgatorio because it kinda is, but without Seven Terraces (so so so so painful not to have it that way) but in the game you are doing something similar to Purgatory, not quite Mount Purgatory though.

every grace entity must: 1. take 1 or 2 actions to avoid (hide, stand still, etc.) 2. be comboable with other entities (carnation) 3. it must have a very obvious visual cue

Reign: an entity that has a rare chance to spawn in the middle of the room. If he spawns the player is unable to sprint, the player needs to walk out of the room Reign was in or not the player will not survive. Also the player need to go to room behind the room Reign was in. It's like Reign telling the player "Hey, this rooms is MINE! Go back to the previous room you were in" and if the player already went to the previous room, Reign will mediately disappear. If the player doesn't go, his hand will grab the player and crush the player. Appearance: a lime ball with a smiley face with hands coming out his eyes, the hand we're touching the ground meaning that it's Reign's ground. The hands are dark green. Sound: the sound when Reign spawns is a deep laugh with an loud echo, and the disappearing sound is a loud boom. ( I took me a long time to make this)

I think the gimmick of Grace having so few entities is that the further you progress, the higher the chance of multiple appearing at once is. in like doors in pressure you rarely ever get more than two entities at once, but in Grace it’s not too much of a surprise if you get a slight room being chased by carnation and then dozer appearing ykwim? like the combinations of the entities prevents you from learning the pattern is cool, and being forced to go really fast helps this imo

my creation Peer. lore: your anxiety. if you move while he’s on your screen you lose health (like losing sanity) in order to not get effected by him is to crouch in a corner (CANNOT SPAWN WITH OTHER ENTITIES EXCEPT FOR ELKMAN). he has no actual form making it hard to see, but if you see like a shockwave or a bent part in the screen or an anomaly that is him! Bloodshed. Lore: your fear of being watched. if you see a room full of green slights you must crouch and look up and hold your breath via keybind b if you don’t do that the eyes will swarm your screen then your screen will become completely red and then you get ripped to shreds by a complete black entity. looks like a room full of green slights.

Here's an concept Entity name: gracer Mechanics: if gracer spawns gracer will be on your screen and he will make you play a mini game the mini game is a puzzle piece mini game and you have 20 seconds to finish it when you dont finish the puzzle in time he will applie the hallucinations effect on you Apprenece: looks like a puzzle piece and color dark green and haves dozers eyes and mouth

Entity Concept: *Deluge* Functionality: Deluge is a sudden burst of flood which attacks similarly to floor is lava. However, before initiating, a hint of water will flow when opening a door. In the next 10 seconds after opening that door, the water will quickly flood the room you are in and to survive you must be standing in a surface that doesnt go in contact with the ground like that room where theres obstacles you need to jump and slide into. The flooding will stop after 2 seconds, the flood will just disappear like nothing ever happened, a similar effect like Sorrow. Deluge can be associated/simultaneous with: (after flood) Sorrow, and (whilst flooding) Slugfish.

My idea: Temptation - basically you need to press a certain button or key otherwise you’ll slowly become charmed, certain entities will only appear in it like Dozer and Slugfish in the room before, where the entity is, and the room after it. Kneel - an entity blocking the door, stop and crouch otherwise it won’t let you in. If chased by Carnation or Slugfish, if the entity allows you to go in, stops said entity until you reach the door after. Hope/Blessing - pressing a button or key allows the entity to function and provide you a second life (cannot be stacked). Failing to activate it will not do anything. (This entity can only appear once in a run)

I have one entity idea- "Executers"- Function: This entity starts spawning after Dozer and Sorrow start appearing. Their hint on the note would be "dodge their attacks. they all have a mind of their own." One of the executers will shoot up 3 dynamites exploding after 10 seconds. The second one would blast at least 4 fireballs at you. The third however, Drops a blood-covered metallic block. The block's shadow can help the player dodge this. Appearance: A three headed god of evil, With the first one having a blood-covered hand, The second having a gun, (Makes sense-), And the third having an orb colored gray. With a blue atmosphere too. Badge Name: A Deadly Trio How To Collect: Survive the Executers.

One thing I notice is when people see entities, they don’t think about how it also synergies with every other entity. If you were to get a run where there was elkman, Dozer, carnation, and sorrow; it wouldn’t be that impossible to work around because there is a way to work around all of these entities not only by themselves but also all together. This is why doors games take a lot of play testing to get right. When other people make entities like the first one, it doesn’t work with any of the other monsters, causing the game to slow down which is what grace is trying not to do. Maybe with some more play testing, the first monster could become a really cool monster in the game. Keep up the great work.

I made an entity of my own, I call it, Brace it's similar to sorrow, but with grey fog instead of red, after a second the fog goes away with a huge thud brace is an earthquake, all players on the floor when the thud occurs die instantly, so you nee to time your jump

Meet Prayer. I chose this name cause i got a entity idea. So prayer is a Very mysterious entity. It has no eyes. Mouth. or design. You cant slide when hes active. and you cant run too, Every time you crouch. a beam shows up, 2nd time = 2 of them 3rd time you do they get bigger and every time you crouch there apears more. until you opened the 5th door of him doing it. he dies after that. his color is like a HEAVENLY yellow. and it lasts less rooms when Someone takes dmg Because his name is Prayer and it fits with the lore video someone made.The lore video is something about Every entity trying to slow you down. because theres timer and so you dont see whats at the end because they think theres something disturbing there, Slow you down: 6.97/10 Make you lose: 30% Survive: 70% Dmg: 25 Lost time by him: 19.5 Seconds Forms: Big, Small, And medium Class: A- Type of charecter: On the good side. Nice Story if entities had their own storys: I will pray for 19.5 seconds, I dont want to hurt you. I think a better mechanic for the second one IF you are in single player is he just sends you back anyway from 1-2 rooms without a mini game. Having that sort of mini game in grace does not feel grace-y, it feels pressure quick time event mini games like pandemonium

Rapidity - This entity deals damage no matter what you do, although, the best way to keep most health, is by running through every door as fast as you can, this entity is tall an red, with no prominent features, and it is EXTREMELY QUICK, which is why it starts 5 doors behind. You'll know you've encountered Rapidity when you hear guttural wrenches and gurgles, this is your cue to run, and no matter what you do. DO. NOT. STOP. RUNNING.

Entity Concept: Bliss Not a sin, but a blessing. Bliss appears every 200 doors. At the next safehouse after reaching 200, 400, 600 to how long you get, that safe house will be a shop. Bliss sells useful items like the Super Strap Light, where you can have it on forever and have other items in your hand. There's Eye Replacer Spray, making your vision back to normal if you got hit by Slight or Heed. And finally we have the Minute Extender, giving you another minute to that run. They do cost Tear Coins, where you can get some each room. Super Strap Light: 700 Eye Replacer Spray: 800 Minute Extender: 2000 You can also, in settings, add him to see what you died to, like Sebastian from pressure, just nicer.

Static:Once appearing, the player has to get to the next door in a second or they get the hallucination effect or die. Appearance:Makes faint static on the sides of the players screen, the screen gets filled with static and the player dies when death and hit, the hit has no black, the hit static effect lasts 1 second too, Sounds:When appearing, makes a wind sound and starts playing static sounds, on dissapears the static sound fades, on hit its a very strong wind sound.

Idea: Void. Punishes those who go slow. When opening a door, a static (similar to incarnation’s but black) will signal that void has spawned. The entity is special to each player, so you can’t die because someone went too fast. It will spawn 5 doors behind the player, being slightly faster than a players running speed. It will try to catch up to a player and consume them, but if a player goes through 10 doors before it does, it despawns. (It also puts some small black tentacles and black static at the bottom of their screen to signal it’s there, and the static and tentacles will get bigger the closer it is)

Fun fact- the previous entities actually represent a sin, which adds up the lore despite the name and thumbnail. For example, heed represents lust because it forces you to look at you. I mean I wish I can share my ideas, but I also invent some new features for example, a new currency called gems which you can buy items that boost you Some items can’t be bought twice like a live Every 100 rooms has a shop that gives 3 items, only 1 friend can get 1 Anyways I just wanna tell you your videos are great!

no hear me out God: GOD (duh) Goatman: DEVIL, gives you limited time, you can only prolong the time you stand against him except for saferooms. Slugfish: SLOTH “Stay patient, no greed” Elkman: ENVY (hes a distorted version of goatman as he envys goatman, hence the name ELK man, GOAT man.) Heed: GLUTTONY. (DO stare, DO give it attention) Carnation: LUST (Carnation is a name of a flower which can be translated to “flower of god” which is used to represent love, hence, lust.) Sorrow: WRATH (the storm is powerful and withers away at the soul.) Dozer: PRIDE “Swallow your ego or it will.” SLIGHT: GREED (it stares at you because it wants something from you.) that took me like 2 minutes

So i loved these ideas but realised they wouldnt match up with the paste of the game.i had some cool ideas that maybe make sense with your (beautiful) designs😊 1.warden:he appears on your screen with closed wings like dozer but hell slowly open his wing indicating that you should stop.if youre still moving a panic meter goes up pretty quickly.if it fills up you die.he appears alongside heed at 170. 2.Catzer:hell also appear on your screen and youll still have to shake your screen to shake him off.his eyes count down from 5.if you dont succeed to shake him of in these 5 seconds,hell throw you back 5 rooms and raise the same panic meter that warden has aswell.he appears at room 120 alongside slugfish and elkman. 3.Bless:he falls in your hand and you would have to hold it in hand to stop the time.the passing still exists but you would only have to hold it in hand to stop.if you take out a lantern instead the time would continue.the inventory box for bless would be shaking aswell if not held in hand.if 15 seconds pass without it being in your inventory you explode in an blessing light also matching Graces theme.he appears at the next vault after dozer and sorrow(i think 240 idk) new monster at 25 likes on this comment!!!

How about certain gimmicks in rooms that resemble the 7 heavenly virtues, like a diligence room that slows the timer but it gives you a fair trade off by spawning the opposition of the room? This case, sloth. I don't know just a fun little thing i thought, i agree though.

problem is there is 8 entities so i dont think this works (elkman, slight, heed, sorrow, carnation, slugfish, dozer , goatman) and we cannot agree which entities are which sin (there is such wide opinion elkman could be any of them)

I have my own entity that if you’re doing a part two i would love it if you could draw. So it’s a a grandfather clock that spawns in the corner of the room somewhere and if you open the next door before it stops making a ticking noise a loud gong sound effect will happen and it will damage the player to half health (like slight) also similar to slight there will be an effect on your screen of a ticking clock. The entities name is ticker

Opha-Bomb added mechanics: 1. serphim protects you from goat man; an interface of when theyre gunna come, basically their eyes turn red to stop, and blue to go 2. pacer, in singleplayer just appears at a 1/30 chance, and must spam the spacebar/screen, or a rhythm minigame where its like the beginning of hatsune miku no shoushitsu in proseka (expert chart) 3. opha-bomb syncs with the in-game clock, and in multiplayer, whenever someone passes the opha-bomb to someone, they steal their time equivalent to how much the opha-bomb has. death animations: 1. you burn into a crisp while screaming in pain 2. get cut up into pieces and slashed 3. blue shell

Devs should be takin notes rn, the only thing I would disagree with is at 7:28 where the “Q&E minigame” could potentially get in the way for PC players as ‘E’ is the key to open doors. Instead I believe that the minigame should be something like a goal to reach ___ amount of doors, before the short timer of maybe 15 to 30 second timer runs out it explodes. Basically a ticking time bomb.

Two entity ideas I came up with: The first entity would be called envy. When you enter the room it’s in A timer of five seconds will appear in the left corner of your screen. Once you see the timer you have to stop running or walking and on the last second you have to rush to the next door. If you do it to late or two early it will obscure your vision. The next time you fail the minigame you will be killed. The entity will spawn rarely and will only appear when you make it to the fifth saferoom. The second entity would be called exceptance. If he appears in the room your in you have to stop running for five rooms. You can slide during the five floors though. If you run during the five rooms you will be killed. If you make it through the five rooms without running 30 seconds will be added to the timer. Exeptance will spawn very rarely and will only appear once you make it to the seventh saferoom.

Cool video, and as someone who has not played grace yet, here are my thoughts for some names that would work for them. 1. Stopsight. (The red-light green-light mini-game idea) 2. Skillcheck (It sounded funny with the mechanic you said if a teammate was behind) 3. The Stabilizer (or Ticktock, both sound good) Also you gotta be more specific with the drink water quote, i drank too much bottled water i almost threw up (13) and as much as this sound like a joke(it mostly is) i did drink 13 bottles today and felt sick for three hours

would it be realy funny if after room 500 entities change from sins to vitues: like: patience- an entity which will require you to slow down (much like the elk man and if you dont slow down (by spending atleast 2secs in the room you will start to glitch out) faith- a room type wich (if you take he long path going up (you are not safe from carnation though she will be slowed)) will cut 5-9 rooms (if this room generates near the safe area then it will cut half of the course) charity- having to make you trade atleast one item (either pages wich give you like 2bricks or any upcoming items) just to name a few and these entities/room types will cycle every 500 rooms

If there is more entities, I think they should switch out. Some would have to stay in, like Carnation, Goatman, and maybe Sight (I will call them Sight no matter what). So say you could have a Dozer and Sorrow mix one hatch, but Heed and Elkman the other. I also have some mechanic criticisms -A red light, green light mechanic would be the THIRD stop in place entity, which makes it repetitive and would require way too much focus. -I like the idea of ruberbanding people who hyper-rush, but being tossed back would waste lots of time, especially with how tight the timer gets. -The shake screen idea is perfect, it'd be a quick shake so you're not held back and disorientated too much. -Again, the time bomb minigame would need to be short and not have keys that interfere with movement keys, so spamming right click might work. -Over all, they're good mechanics on paper, but would need to be tweaked to be executed well and fairly.

All of my Grace monster ideas (yapper alert) A monster where you have to jump to avoid them A monster like sluggish, but you are only safe on one side of the hall. A version of Dozer but with more HP A monster that makes spikes that come from the ground that limits the player's health. A flooding thing where you have to go to a certain elevation to avoid him. A camouflaging guy. I think that would be cool. A Sonic Unleashed-style quick time event. (Idk, stuff like slode+jump+left+right and then he leaves? Idk) An Anti-dozer mechanic. Idk how exactly it would work? Maybe being forced to run backwards until he closes his eyes? I think that would be cool, but would probably be conflicting with the whole room despawning thing. A monster that forces you to stop running, but not necessarily stop moving. A monster you have to crouch for. An eye guy (like slight and heed) that would be circular and green that would force you to touch it as fast as you can or it attacks you. A slippery ice thing A guy that chases you for 30 seconds or so. Like Pizza Face from Pizza Tower. You can't avoid it, but it chases you. Other players also have their own versions, and they won't die to other players versions of this enemy A schizophrenia update. A monster that kills one player randomly, or turns them around. A goatman like entity, but only comes after you once. A guy that increases the time. A guy that spawns like 10 or so doors in front that spawns bullets headed to the rooms behind. Can't be destroyed but can be walked around. A monster that forces you to stop using any form of light, or it will attack you.

Entity mechanic idea: reverse carnation. Basically carnation but you want to be outside of the safe zone. Indicator would be tendrils apear out of nowhere and the screen is breifly blinded by static when he passes by (color depends on what you'd choose for a design)

Okay so, the first monster is fine since he works like dozer, but the second one has a problem with its single player version since it fits more into like a game like doors and pressure, a better version would be you need to point your flashlight at hes eye and then it starts counting down from 5 to 0, it does have a timer and once the timer finishes, it attacks you(it does as much damage as heed and slight) The third one is fine tho and all of the designs in the video are good

My idea for a monster is the reverse of dozer. It's a red face that's crying. when he spawns, you can't stop running until the next monster spawns (not including slugfish elkman goatman slight and heed). if you stop running, your screen turns red, and his eyes turn into black + and the text that appears is "ẄH4| H4V€ ¥ØU Ð0Ŋ3" instead of the text appearing on a corner and multiples. it spawns everywhere like the "you are a idiot" virus, then you die. The note reads, "Don't stop." he appears as the last entity. He won't spawn when any of the not listed enemies are active. the description of his badge is "he Isn't like the other ones" I didn't know what name to give him so I put reverse of sleeper on chat gpt and got vigilant, alert, conscious, awake, wary, and more that didn't fit so what name should I give him????? Edit:Someone responded, and his name is 'awakening', and the name of the badge is 'CONSCIOUSNESS' :D

i think a good name for this entity would be "awakening" also for the badge name i think it would be improved by just an antonym of snooze, and i think the name of the badge would be "CONSCIOUSNESS" the badge description would fit being "Swallow her ego, or she will, too." (also sorry if awakening was actually a he, but they're the reverse of dozer, they even reverse gender :P )

For the second entity i think if ever someone makes an animation out of the mechanic i think it would be nice if it dashes in front of you and grabs you and makes you look in its eyes by going up in your face. If you succeed then it will disappear. If you didn't succeed, the number in the eyes will count up like a slot machine and once it reaches five it will either push you or drag you 5 doors down.

Idea for the second one you did: Speedster, if you get too far ahead of your teammate(s) he will appear Infront of you constantly at the same distance, his eye will change 1-5, then he'll grab you, your screen flashes white, and then you're back the number of rooms that were in his eye, I think the singleplayer one fits him perfectly though

Ghost i guess? the body is kinda like a ghost + Ghost HAS been used for a name last one could be like after saferoom 10 name would be like uhh Sloth i put a little more mechanic, so basically if you beat the minigame like twice then he wont show up again for 5 saferooms, BUT if you pass it to your friend and he dies, you get hurt and if you do it again (if you dont look at slight/did look at heed) you die

In rooms community too many entities can make game almost unplayable since they can spawn with other, making game harder or annoying. Great example is Rooms & Doors where it's rng can be VERY unfair but last time when i played it, CJ4(developer of R&D) made game a bit easier than before but game game have maybe 13 entities in the game, all of them are unique. Or Apeiros where not so much entities but they are unique too and entities are more easier than in R&D. Grace is also Rooms inspired game, of course it's created more original like Doors(it's rooms Inspired game) but only thing that makes Grace a bit unique is there no hiding spots, like yeah they are exist but not lockers, not wardrobes, only lighted saferooms. Rusher like Carnation is not so unique but this 3d model that having one side with raycasting(detection service), not nextbot. But this kind of hiding was created BEFORE Grace, Myriad of Echoes(this game still in development) having lockers that not doing anything with player, you must to open it, enter in and then close it to be hidden from VESSEL30(a-60 design type with MORE original mechanic and it's uhh.. AI)

The angel entity you just draw is similar to Dozer's mechanic as Dozer kinda acted like a red light and green light type of entity because when he opens his eyes, you'll just simply crouch and don't move also Tophat King made a lore video about Grace explaining that the player is in Purgatory and God is giving them trials aka entities that represents the player's sins to face them.
