Creating First Android App Using MATLAB/SIMULINK

This is the first Android App developed by using MATLAB/SIMULINK without writing a single line of code .

Apps will show altitude from ground,and speed. 2. Current power, voltage,current and time elapse from starting. 3. And also GPS current position in google map. Can't seem to find a list of android devices that are supported in the newer versions of Matlab.. I recall originally only Samsung S4 and Tab 2 10.1 could be used, but not sure if that's still the case.

Hello, Its a great video. I have few questions from my experiment on this... 1. how do you adjust the size of the video display(RGB display block you have used) on your mobile screen. 2. I have used simulink Scope block to generate a graph in my app, But i am not able to adjust the scales of the graph on my mobile screen to view better. I appreciate your suggestion. Thank you

I installed the package, the app built and run on my phone, but i can not find the simulink support package for samsung galaxy android device in library browser, even in manage add ones it is confirmed that the library installed successfully

Hi Khalil, great tutorial. Is there any way by which I could capture an image from the phone camera and later import the image to a Simulink android app for processing. I mean accessing gallery photos to Simulink app and process it.

First, how can i implement some algorithm for the data to further process on it? Example, I want to get the user voice input and further process it with my own algorithm. Second, how to implement UDP for android and MATLAB to send data between both of them?

yes, i watched.... still there is only samsung galaxy support visible in my library browser...but i have androidlib in my system but not visible in simulink library(also don't have android data display,android slider)

Hi I am using a Samsung galaxy s6 device, and when I try to choose the android device option from the hardware board option it didn't appear! only the galaxy s4 and tab2 options, any suggestion, please?

Dear Mr khalil I have watched both videos you have published, and watched them till the end, in the installation when I get to the part where I have to choose between the s4 and the tab2 I have terminated the installation. when I am trying to run any matlab example or your example and get to the part where you have chosen the android devices option from the hardware pane, I don't have that option !! the only options I have is s4 and tab2 choosing any of them producing an error because I have different device thanks for your help and sorry for any inconvenience

Nice informative video. I have a question. Can we merge/integrate an external android or python app with MATLAB? i mean, I have a music player application of android and python, i just wanted to control those apps from MATLAB commands. yes you can , there is a special block in MATLAB where you can send or receive commands from other Apps or even Android OS to your own App which created in SIMULINK. I will try to make a video for more details

Real lame for Mathworks. Good engineers are supposed to use the right tool to do to right job, not use matlab to do everything.

it seems you have a problem with MATLAB since it is a very high level language which eliminate the needs of your traditional tools !!
