Don’t want to sound like the old boomer guy, but I’m used to programming midi all my percussion and drums tracks, especially with hardware drum machines and modules, this loop based workflow that I can see from so many tutorials these days, to me it seems a little bit lazy. Sure there’s some nice loop preset packs out there for sure, but in my opinion the creative process seems to be less and less creative really. At the same time this is the reason of so many similar songs on Beatport.

I understand what you're saying, but it also depends on how you use these loops. You can chop them up, extract one-shots, and create your own patterns, adding layers of effects to make them uniquely yours. I don't agree that using loops is the main reason why there are so many similar songs out there, not just on Beatport, but everywhere. People tend to recreate what resonates with their audience, so if one person finds success with a particular style, a thousand other producers will start making music in that same style to achieve similar success. The same goes for labels that focus on a specific style, which also influences producers. So, to say it's solely because of loops is a bit of an oversimplification, but I definitely see your point!😃
