Is there any other way to reduce pixelation on all lines except hozizontal and vertical lines.

How do you get the background from one scene to not cover the scene I am stacking on top of?

I do an offset of say 2 or 3mm then fill it in the black in sketchup. This way you can make different item, usually walls have a different line weight. It work a lot faster for me.

Why? This seems like a lot of extra work considering you can do different line weights with section cuts...

Great tips as always Justin. I really hope Layout get some more love over the next few maintenance updates. I run a solo practice and can find Layout painfully slow with any model over 80mb when reloading viewports over 8 or more pages. Its a great intuitive app, but they really need to work on performance before any bigger practices will adopt it.

Are you using raster rendering for most of your color images with separate linework rendered as vector? If you just render everything as "hybrid" it will run really slow. Thanks!

@@Thesketchupessentials , Thanks for taking the time to reply Justin I really appreciate it buddy 🙂 Since I made that comment I actually discovered this myself, you are 100% right, abusing the hybrid render seems to be the culprit. A good combination of a lightweight style rendered in vector layered over a low quality raster viewport seems to do the trick. Its still by no means a lightning fast program and adding dimensions / copying annotations still seems to stutter, but atleast its less painful. I stick by my wish for more resources dedicated to Layout though, for me Sketchup is perfect, I just wish Layout was as refined and allowed plugins, here's to hoping though! 🙂 This workflow is still 100000 times better than AutoCAD

You totally nailed it! I've been searching everywhere for this solution! Thank you

I hope sketchup really steps up layout into a full fledged documentation suite, nobody should put in this much effort to communicate their design.

Hi Justin, as a general comment, I find your online tutorial are very helpful - I'm a senior architect returning to small private practice. BUT, this video explaining how to vary line weights in SKP is way way too complex and not at all convenient. SKP wants to compete with AutoCAD then these sort of "customizing" have got to become much more convenient.

you can configure in Layout in the list of layers the thickness, the color and the line style for each tag EDIT: What I say is just for what you see and not for what you cut with a section plane
