At this point in my career cameras are the last thing on my mind because I can kill it with anything. I think what’s important for filmmakers to understand is to invest in the knowledge, techniques, and workflow efficiency side of filmmaking because the knowledge of the craft will beat a Cinema camera any day of the week.

Exactly, some should try to see the image they can get out of an almost 10 year old bmcc. Pretty much Arri quality. The age of the camera should be the last thing beginning film makers should ever worry about. I would only recommend people to start worrying about how old a camera is when they’re dealing with clientele. I’m still seeing people kill it on most 1st 2nd and 3rd gen sensors

Get the c70. It’d be such a perfect combo for what you do. I just sold both my c200s and got two c70s. It with the speedbooster is so baller. Plus being able to run it easily on a ronin RS2 is game changing. You won’t regret it!

Awesome video my dude! I had my heart set on the FX6 or FX3 but that would have been my whole budget for my small business. Ended up with the A7III and was able to fully rig out my camera with what I needed. Love your videos and message, keep killing it my man. Cheers!

It’s amazing to me that people think that a camera that is four years old might be obsolete or too old to use today. I understand there are newer cameras with better features etc. but what is this world where professional cameras the cost thousands of dollars become obsolete in four years? Or at least are perceived to become obsolete in four years? The camera manufactures love it of course. But I remember a world where professional film cameras would last 20 or 30 years or longer! Of course the initial outlay for a camera back then was probably more. But seriously why couldn’t you shoot a music video with a four year old camera or even a 10-year-old cam or even a 20-year-old camera? Why would this be a problem? This gear obsession can’t be healthy.

C70 has that 1DX size. I used it a couple months ago, and compared to the BMPCC and Z Cam rigs I’ve used, it’s a game changer! Thinking about getting it myself

How’d you feel about the image quality versus those cameras? Zcam and bmpcc have a “filmic” texture to the image in a way, so I’m wondering if the C70 feels like that too

@@dna8269 honestly the C70 looks like a more filmic Canon R5. Looks amazing. But the image quality from BMPCC and the Z Cam both look special. I prefer the image. But I think would still take the C70 for its convenience. It’s just EXPENSIVE 😂

I have both the C70 and C200. I shoot mostly weddings. I do agree, don't buy the C200 new, especially when the C70 is the same price new. I bought my C200 used and it has worked perfectly and is a great for my 2nd shooter for weddings.

@@makosports Honest question - I'm definitely not saying it's a not a good camera, but how exactly is the FX3 goat, let alone a cinema camera in the Sony Cinema Line, when it doesn't even have basic waveform tools or built-in NDs ? BTW, I'm a Sony owner (2 FX6's).

@@makosports As long as you have the ability to accurately ensure that you're not clipping highlights in all scenarios, it's a great choice. My biggest reason going to the FX6 from the a7siii was not having to continually franken-rig out a mirrorless camera to get exactly what I want. Also, the batteries I use (Core Digital and Hawk Woods) fit directly in the native FX6 battery slot and have dtap out to power a Ninja V, and last like 4 hours each. Everything I need fits all within the Jason Case that's customized to fit this, several lenses and more, which is also within the dimensions of a carry-on.

first of I'm so glad you made this video !!! i was waiting to see how you felt about it . i had the C70 and i sold it because i didn't really like the autofocus , I'm sure they have fixed it by now , but i would disagree with you about it being user friendly even though it looks like a DSLR ,it still has Cinema camera settings so you would still need to help them , but this was a great review bro , i think you will love the C70

Still a great Camera. Im actually lovin the C300 in 1080p in Wide DR for some reason. 1080p is already kind of naturally soft + it's coming off of a 4k sensor, But the C200 imo is still a great pick for someone who just started but knows they love filmmaking from the jump.

chris .you are my first channel that i actually subscribed . few point.if you bought a c200b they would be lighter and loose some hardware.but its worth it.you can actually buy a cfcard to ssd adapter and it makes your work much easier .12 bit canon raw that was on their higher end like c500.is absolutely killer.about 10 bit and middle codec you are right.but low light performance and raw and canon color is actually make it worth even in 2021.i want one and i can't find it in iran.such a shame.did i mention so many lenses available? i will buy it just for 12 bit raw and ssd output and nd built in that's a workhorse for years..and i will actually accept your c200 kindly.haha. damn i like your channel.

I’ve got an old scarlet W. Aspire to a Gemini 😂. If you’re struggling to make it work with the weight or support gear then I’d say sell. If not then don’t as you’ll grow into it. That’s a fire camera the Gemini. When you get to fairly top line cams like the Gemini they’re good for years and years. It’s why the prosumer end are always changing specs to more res etc as they are caught in one up manship by announcing top line numbers (which is a spell as we all know resolution increase is not perceptible to the eye beyond a certain point. It was in an Arri white paper).. You won’t need more than 5k for a long time unless doing heavy VFX recomp in post. Beware KZbin as it has you thinking you need to chop in cameras a lot. Doesn’t really apply with higher end cams. Sell if struggling money wise, if not your Gemini will be good for a long time.

yeah and you can put a speedbooster on the C70 and get the full frame look and an extra stop of light with you EF lenses. Even my R6 has clog3 now with dual card recordings :D I havent touche a gimbal since thanks to that sweet sweet Ibis hehe

Was in this struggle bus to on what to get. I have the Bmpcc4k and 6kpro. I just bought c200 used for 3800$ without the view finder but has all the other accessories. (sidegrip top handles cables etc.) With only a few hours of run time. Couldnt pass it up. I would say the only thing I wish it had was 10bit also but thats my main only downfall. I love my c200. Decided that its a great starter point for the c300

Forgot to say that there are no proper way to monitor clog straight in camera, need an external monitor. Another missed point, together with the lack of any decent intermediate codec in camera, something many times announced and never arrived..not even in HD. I really liked this camera but never pulled the trigger because of the idiotic Canon's way to cripple it.
