Creating ORIGINAL Fakemon: YAMASK variant | GEN 9 | Ep. 33 | Jermanzburg Region

Doing a bit of catching up on your videos and what a good one to start off with!! I love the urn idea, and the cut scene with the two Yamasks would be adorable I want to see that so badly! These designs are amazing, that small fated detail of “love” kinda being spelt out with the runes works so well haha! Great designs as always, they just seem to keep getting better and better 😃😃

Hey welcome back ^.^ Glad you liked it, it's definitely one of the better ones. All in all this Fakemon just worked, especially Kistoregus, eventho I had no plan to begin with, which makes it even cooler to me! Also glad you like the cutscene idea and the rune idea ^.^

I really love this design. I wanted to do a regional variant as well for a certain subject, but I've given that role to a different pokémon variant. I can't wait to see what else you have in store for the region you're making.

I love the dual Yamask idea - it kind of reminds me of the Sinistea Legit vs Knockoff mechanic in a way, lol! And the gameplay mechanic where you have to release one to stop the other following you is awesome - you always have such neat ideas when it comes to additional mechanics for individual Pokémon.

Lol you’re right. Totally forgot that Sinistea had 2 version. That was actually a cool detail. Thank you very much, this means so much to me :D I’m glad you like the game mechanic ^.^ I’m always trying to give every Fakemon at least 1 thing that makes them special. Idk if that’s too much and if every Fakemon needs to be special but hey. That’s how I like to do it :D

I find fakemon to be a very interesting thing. Many designs are atrocious, even by a majority of the youtubers whom only get passes for being so big, but these two designs are very pleasing. I'd for sure put this on my team, with yamask being one of my favorite pokemon and this making him only better.

Fakemon are quite a difficult thing to design. They have to be kinda balanced and not too over designed (unless there is a legit reason for it) but also cant be too underdesigned and just be an animal. And theres no way to please everybody xD I'm glad you like this regional variant, especially since you are a fan of the original :D

This is just a trend now a regional Meowth and a regional Yamask, sadly due to the trailer the next region wont have a regional Meowth this design has great lore and has a great design and evolution

Yeah nearly every fanmade region has an own Meowth and Yamask. So does mine, but the Meowth will be released towards the end of the series. It's kinda sad that the new Gen probably has no regional Meowth. Maybe it gets a regional evolution, that could be possible. And thank you ^.^

Nice Video, you mentioned The Phantom and I was wondering if you meant the og Superhero from the comics or someone else. I am a huge Phantom fan, mainly because I grew up with a dubbed version of the comics named "Betal". The Video was great

There is a lot I can compliment So I won’t But one problem I have with these two They are a bit too complicated Now what I mean is that these designs in Pokémon need to be simple enough so that it could be made into its various figures and plushies etc This is part of the challenge with Pokémon Creating a good design element and then having to figure out how to translate that into the simplicity of the Pokémon style Hope this helps they look awesome

Yeah I do agree that Kistoregus may be a bit too busy, it's definitely on the more detailed site. I felt like the balance between not having too much open space and not over detailing everything was ok but it probably could have been simplified more, you're right with that. Thx for the constructive criticism Edit: Do you think the concept was too complex for a Fakemon or the design just not simplified/the elements not translated well enough?

@@borealmind That the elements weren’t translated well enough the rest was amazing I really like your rendering style too (an example is to turn maybe the goo on Yamasks hands into a pattern or glove like thing)
