About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

I agree with tiebacks. You aligned the tub with the window so guests could enjoy the view. Guests can then make their own decision about privacy needs.

Letting the bathroom curtains float free is a great idea. Don’t get down on yourself for small mistakes. They are insignificant considering the magnitude of your chateau project and the wonderful work you’ve done!

I agree, have the brackets so that guests can have the curtains open and enjoy the vista, and unhook to hang if they feel the need while showering. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to have them down whilst they are in the bath given the effort you’ve gone to for them to be able to enjoy the view!! Fabulous work, again! Well done: I do also love the slippers and enjoy seeing Jonathan plying his ever growing set of skills! Xx

No surprise that you would NEED to learn a lot before getting things safe AND looking nice! I admire you all so much - you go on and on, learning all the way along and doing things each time better. It takes a lot of resilience and creativity and strength of character to not give up. Of course we don't see your moments down, and I suppose there are many. You have done a beautiful job on the curtains in the parlor, the bathroom sheers look good hanging down, but always have tie backs in case someone wants to have them back as well, please show the whole bathroom in your next video, I must of missed the sink and toilet being put in, would love to see the whole bathroom, you guys are doing great fantastic job 👍

I would use tiebacks. The guests can decide what they want. You could always have them hanging and the tieback available. If I were a guest, i would let the curtains hang when i needed privacy...and then open them all other times because of the view which adds to my experience of staying there. It would be memorable.

I think it would be nice to have the option of tiebacks for the voile in the bathroom giving the guests a choice. Love seeing Johnathan in his overalls while painting the curtain brackets. That was a good solution for the bedroom tiebacks. Until these things happen you don't know how strong or weak, normal fittings and fixings are. Inguineity again in LaLacelle ❤

Yes, I agree, have curtain pullbacks without tie backs ( that is, just the metal hooks) so guests could easily drop the curtains to close when needed. I think with the curtains pulled back it gives a vista through the window most of the time and gives a formality to the curtains similar to the other curtains in the suites.

Clever craft work with the wooden blocks for the tie backs and the curtain pole holders...as usual! Definitely leave the voile in the bathroom down to drift in the breeze...very romantic

I would leave the curtains hanging down. It will be beautiful in the spring and summer with them waving in the wind while you are in the tub. I like that it is different than the bedroom. You have done a brilliant job as always Terry.

I agree. Let the bathroom voiles hang free. The contrast with those and the ones in the bedroom will be good. A little like knowing when to use gold leaf and when to use gold paint. The viewer needs the contrast. One needs architecture like Versailles to swag and ornament everything. You are on a good path, so keep on following it.

What a great solution to the curtain tie backs in the bedroom suite. I like to be able to see the view out of the windows, and since the bathroom will look out on the garden and the beautiful distant view, I'd vote for tying back the voile curtains. If someone wants more privacy--especially at night when it is dark outside--they can close the voile curtains.

Could you find a pair of beautiful U-shaped brackets for the voile in the bathroom? Guests would feel awkward taking down tiebacks, but if it was something that they could just loop behind it would offer guest options. If you don’t think that that would be possible, then I would leave them hang. Looking beautiful!

I have to say I love your bathroom chandelier. It's just beautiful. I also have to say that I have used that style of curtains with the sheer in the middle all my life. I lived in Massachusetts and in Florida and always loved them. Beautiful job. Can't wait for 401

I think hanging free they don't look as much in keeping with the elegance of the rest of the suite. Can you make it to where they can untie them easily for privacy when/if they want it, and then tie them back the rest of the time? I'm impressed with the way you did that curtain bracket for the bathroom. Great job! And I loved the idea for the tiebacks, that worked out extremely well!

I agree the curtains should hang free most of the time for a feeling of enclosure, but with some simple holdbacks to tuck them out of the way when you want the view. The bathroom looks so inviting now.

Every thing looks fantastic !!!! in the bathroom I think curtain hooks would be fine. The idea of having a bath while looking at the view would be ruined by the viol, but to have them down would be more romantic. Have the option for both. 😊💕

I like the idea of the bathroom sheers to hang free, when needing additional privacy...But with the ability to tie them back as well - which will help when cleaning (the floors) and when you want the light to stream in unimpeded by the sheers. Elegant and very sturdy supports for bedroom tiebacks and the bathroom voile curtains. Very classy... amazing what Terry seems to be able to create out of nothing. Definately let the bathroom curtains float in the breeze... gives somewhat of "bathing outdoor" feel in appropriate months. Great team with Tracy and Jonathan pitching in! I agree with the majority of the comments regarding the bathroom curtains…. Let them hang free. Also, if you tie them back, guests might be reluctant to undo them when they use the bathroom. I know what I’m like if I go anywhere, (don’t touch in case you break it) 💕🥰💕
