It makes sense that mixing Plant with Wii U would get Pikmin 3, since that's the only Piknin game specifically for the Wii U (unless you count the Nintendo Land Pikmin minigame), if you had gotten a Gamecube or stuck with the Wii, then you probably would have gotten Pikmin immediately. Also, pretty sure mixing any aspect with any Pikmon type turns the pikmin into the new type (if applicable), just like a candypop bud.
