So glad to see how to make this style earring. The hanging hooks pull my lobes down, and these are much more comfortable and stable. As always, your designs are heavenly.

Do you use myuki delica seed beads or would something less precise be better for the glorious kind of work that you do? I have a "bead pantry" full of Swarovski, semi precious gemstones, lampwork, seed beads, findings .... Everything but what I'm dying for, polymer clay beads!!! Lol! We always want what we don't have. Hopefully I will be squishing clay very soon!😄
@TurtleSoupBeads6 жыл бұрын
You could easily use delicas the reason I dont reccomend them is that they are more expensive and difficult for some people to get . I try and save them for more of my bead weaving projects but they're beautiful
@artsygigi6 жыл бұрын
These are pretty and I like that you can add to the to make big earrings. Do you still use the size D thread? What size are the pearls you use for these or just any small size?
@TurtleSoupBeads6 жыл бұрын
These are probably a 4mm pearl but any size will work and yes I love the D thread but most sizes would work well
@Huntingbunnyrabbits6 жыл бұрын
Hi Susan, it may sound a little silly but could you make a short video on how you prepare your thread before beading?
@TurtleSoupBeads6 жыл бұрын
The real trick is to get the kinks out of the thred and that is by stretching it simply pull on a length of thread seriously just tug on it once or twice and it will straighten . Kind of weird but thats it , just tug !
@TurtleSoupBeads6 жыл бұрын
@@giftcreations2010 i mostly use D size nymo its the easiest to find but the thinner ones B and C work the same just may need a extra pass thru to renforce
@tools4ewebycarolhowe4966 жыл бұрын
Great video Susan! I have tried E6000 and I find especially in the heat, it doesn't work well for me. I use gel crazy glue.

Susan, thank you for all your wonderful Tutorials. I was going to order some of the Nymo thread, but there are different sizes. What size do you use for these earnings and what size do you use for the necklaces you make? Thanks Birdie
@TurtleSoupBeads6 жыл бұрын
I order from amazon because they are the best price they dont list a size but it comes in a tube with different colors

What glaze do you use? In more humid weather, all the glazes ive tried become sticky. Also polymer clay tends to be heavy, are these earrings heavier compared to acrylic beads or glass beads?
@TurtleSoupBeads6 жыл бұрын
I have a video on my glazes I also have a comparison on my Facebook.com/turtlesoupbeads page showing the difference with the old and new pledge . I have found water based products to never get sticky and I live in humid florida. My polymer clay beads are actually so light that I need to add glass to keep them centered my beads maybe much smaller than you think
@cindymcpherson84145 жыл бұрын
Hi Susan I can't seem to find the video where you glaze your beads after baking them. And also how long and at what temperature do you bake the flowers the size of a quarter like the ones in this tutorial. Please direct me. Thanks a lot.

Hi Susan. I love all your videos! I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I want to make these ear rings but I cannot use polymer clay because of an illness I have. The pvc/plastic smell in it will get me sick. Is there a more natural alternative to polymer clays that I could use to make jewelry? If not, is there a particular brand of polymer clay that does not smell as strong? I have been trying to research this but am confused by all the clays. I thought I found an alternative and made jewelry with modeling clay for kids but found out it does not harden. lol
@TurtleSoupBeads6 жыл бұрын
Im sorry but im not familiar with other types of clays most of the polymers are very similiar so i really dont know how to help you
@dibenedetto29706 жыл бұрын
I will keep searching and see if I can find someone to help me. Your videos have me inspired to make jewelry with clay so I will see if there is another medium to use. Thanks for your reply!
@delabud89786 жыл бұрын
Do you think the thread and beads would hold up to a firing? I have had no success with glue for earring backs down through the years and would love to close the back piece with clay.
@TurtleSoupBeads6 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't try to bake with the thread, I think it would melt . You could try to bake a strand of thread and see if it melts
@debbeechy6 жыл бұрын
Is the leaf bead polymer clay?
@TurtleSoupBeads6 жыл бұрын
Yes I have a tutorial on how to make them "lentil leaves " but let me warn you they are seriously simple and addictive ! Lol
@debbeechy6 жыл бұрын
I found the tutorial and need more practice on the lentils but have some in the oven right now. I also got some seed beads so will see f I can crank out a pair of earrings soon.
