This is absolutely brilliant!! I was a big fan of Mpiua Tioustouea last year, very glad to see you back! ❤

This has to be one of the top #CCC3 submissions. it's easily the best I've watched so far. It's well structured, took serious effort, fits the theme. No fishing for cheap laughs like "lol there is a grammatical gender for the loss in faith in humanity after watching several bad conlang videos in a row". Everything is there for a reason, to reach a design goal, even if the goals might not apply for us mere mortals. The cursedness comes from the fact that everything makes perfect sense. Bravo.

@@pmnt_ the "bad conlangs" aren't bad their just trying to fit the optional theme of "uncanny/painfull"

so this is basically just aUI on crack 17:50 this is literally just what every "verbless language" does. just make verbs but call them something else
@LoganKearsleyАй бұрын
Most of them, but not all. There is no universally accepted standard definition for "verb", but for any reasonable definition, there are some conlangs that exclude them.

20 minutes in I am having to pause and walk away to let my brain re-solidify. Well done. Cursed conlang indeed.

Well I could (barely) envision learning Mpiua Tioustouea if I was a time traveler but speed talk, you have to be superhuman (with super earing and super good pronunciation) so excuse me if I pass... 😥 But I still loved the video, don't worry ! It's not speed talk the problem, it's YOU ! you dig a lot of rabbit holes in thios video and I probably will get lost underground for 1 or 2 days, envisionning the wonders of Reed-Salomon algorythm and general semantics, so maybe ... thank you !

The treatment of time and space using the same grammatical machinery is also found in Loglan (and Lojban).

Do you have a doc or something for this? This is insane and I love it. Also, you better make a basic dictionary, this is too cool to not be more developed.

Aren't Reed Solomon codes just modular arithmetic + polynomials? I think it's simpler than Hamming codes. Great conlanging tho, you deserve the Top 3!
@ScienceMeetsFiction2 ай бұрын
If it's a prime base, it's modular arithmetic. If it's a prime power base, it involves finite field theory, and it took me a long time to even figure out what I was looking at there.

Um at 29:47, shouldn't 4² be equal to 16 instead of 8 ?
@ScienceMeetsFictionАй бұрын
Yes, it should be 16. Luckily, it doesn't affect anything else. I wrote a program to calculate everything because that's the only way I could keep it straight.
