I wouldn't want 21 people mostly because it would feel a lot more rushed. I mean just remembering how survivor felt when it was 20 people and 40 minute episodes, it was so rushed. Even though we have 60 minute episodes now I wouldn't wanna go above 20 people.

OMG yes, I think the best format ever is 21 contestants divided in three tribes of seven (seven people in tribe sometimes offer very good things at tribal) then a swap at 18 into two tribes of 9 (same thing with tribes of nine people the best blindsides happen here generally + from three to two seems good as there is no predefined majority unless the one old tribe gets swapped into the same new tribe) and then a merge around 13 or 12 people. But it will likely never happen since that would mean uneven number of men and women and I don’t think production would really consider it

I got a concept for 50. 3 tribes each representing one of the 3 main traits of survivor. Outplay,outwit and outlast. Or in other words. One tribe that embodys stratagey, one that embodies physical threats and one embodies social threats and all are legends that never won because they lacked the other two. Like for example a social threat could be cirie one of the best to never win but because she never won comps she never got the chance to get to final tribal. For physical I was thinking Joe anglim or Kyle from 47. They were both deemed to big of physical threats and such got eliminated early to make sure they never went on immunity runs. Finally the straticgal threats are those who ether over played and caused themselves to get out because of it ie a Q, or someone who played a amazing game on paper but due to lacking social awareness in their moves they lost like Spencer Bledsoe or a Russell hantz. There are so many legends who fell short because of these aspects and lacking the others it could be a fun season.

I know it's not likely and their time has probably passed, but I wish we could get some old schoolers back for 50, players who should have gotten a second chance ages ago but never did like Ian (Palau), Sean (Marquesas) or Michelle (Fiji). But I've accepted that it'll probably just be players from season 31 onward.

Well they started with a pool of 200 players they’d like to see again. While it’s definitely possible for that to be exclusive in the range of 31-49, I think it’s more likely they have four (maybe five in rare cases) picks from each season under legitimate consideration, which only gives us around 80 players. I think we’re definitely having a broader pool of players under consideration. I hope the whole “one year of survivor” turns out to be two returnee seasons back-to-back though. A 30s all-star season followed by a new era all-star cast would be splendid

He's going to get the Cesternino/Yau-Man/Cirie early boot of honor. I'm afraid there's a better chance for a relatively subtle player to return and become king or queen. Remember Parvati or Sarah, they were nothingburgers in their first seasons. I think a player like Cassidy, Mike Turner or Caroline is more likely to win.

I could be reading into this too heavily and she is a wildcard so who knows lmao, but something that shocked me was Carolyn posting a Survivor 50 audition video publicly within the past couple months (sort as a joke). But I assumed Carolyn would be one of the FIRST to get a call from the new era. I would’ve guessed she got a call putting her on hold for 50 the moment her season wrapped lol. But posting that kind of video does not give me “I already got a call and have to be concerned about NDA vibes” which makes me seriously curious about their casting angle for this season. Even if she knew they were remotely interested…it seems off to me.

Of all the potential ideas and cast ideas I’ve seen, this is the best. It makes all the sense in the world to go this route, and I wouldn’t have changed a single choice. That being said, it probably won’t happen because I don’t even think Jeff and the producers have this level of awareness of what the show (and fans) want and need.

I think production won’t plan on anyone from 49 since I think they will want the cast figured out before 49 films. I know it’s happened before with Rupert and Russell but you can’t guarantee some from 49 will have that appeal before filming.

RHAP Made a Survivor 50 wishlist earlier this year, and it unironically turned into a very solid cast. The only changes I would make would be to replace the 2 returning players (sorry Wentworth and Cirie) with players from the upcoming seasons.

Hot take but I’d be completely fine with the cast being all new era, if they do pre40 close to half the cast would need to be pre40 so they don’t get picked off like 40 Also for the longevity of the show, feel like the more post 40 players we have, the better. @carolynwiger is one of my fav players of all time. I've spent most of my years working in the drug & alcohol treatment field. When I first saw her profession, I instantly hated her within a span of 5 seconds. Many SUD counselors are legends & healers, but *many* more are POSs who lose their licenses more than any other field for things like sleeping with clients. Episode by episode, Carolyn chipped away at my skepticism, and she became a unicorn to me. She was strategic, vulnerable, tough, smart, and doggedly committed to staying alive in the game. She also has beautiful recovery. She's the real deal, both in her profession and the game of Survivor. I've re-watched her season, and I still can't fathom how she didn't receive a single vote at the end. She would have had mine. She's also who I'd pick to be my counselor if I ever ended up in treatment. She deserves a shot at Survivor 50.

Venus shouldn’t come back. She had a poor social game because she would only talk to people about game. She didn’t care to connect with others on a personal level. She complained about no one but Hunter talking with her at Ponderosa, yet says there’s nothing she did wrong. She even picked a fight with the Empire State Building on X/Twitter for no reason. She’s a guaranteed early boot if she comes back and play like she did the first time.

For Survivor 50, I want 39 days to return. I want two tribes to return. I want 20 players to return... even better yet take a page out of Australian Survivor's playbook with their 47 day seasons and 24 players. It's been forever since we've had a returnee season, even longer since a non-winners returnee season. We need more players from the 30s to return. I need Christian Hubicki back on my screen again. I also agree with pretty much everyone you mentioned for a return with a few exceptions. In terms of returnees from S39, I'd prefer we saw Lauren and Jamal return.

As much as I love Yam Yam, I'd like to see NASA boy come back instead. I think he can go deep with strategy & understanding the mechanisms of the game. Also, I think Sue deserves another run. Few people her age have ever won, let alone sat at the end and bamboozled everyone as to her actual age. Older women face some of the biggest hurdles in terms of social respect. She wasn't my pick to win and I liked Rachel 100x better for lots of reasons, but I have to respect Sue's play.

Personally, I hope they have a 50/50 split between 40+ and pre-40. But I doubt they will. All my favourite seasons are from Koah Rong and earlier and it would be a shame to say goodbye to those castaways, as I doubt they'll be cast in later seasons if they aren't in this one. There are very few post-31 castaways that I'm interested in seeing again as they tend to have similar personalities, so my interest would be a lot less if it's only those seasons. I kind of wish they would do a s49 allstars with just 40+ contestants, then make s50 a more diverse cast from all generations. That gives 40+ a chance to shine while also creating a way for the eras to clash.

I had an Idea if they wanted to keep the 3 tribe format. Heroes V Villains V Vigilantes. Going off the videos list, obviously you have your Heroes for example being Janet, Cydney, Devon, etc. Then the villains in Jesse, Dee, Shan, etc. Then we have Vigilantes. A vigilante is defined on google as "a person who tries in an unofficial way to prevent crime, or to catch and punish someone who has committed a crime." If you replace the word crime with survivor terminology like "Vote off" or "Big Move" you have your Survivor definition. This tribe would have people like Kaleb with the first successful correct play of shot in the dark, Rachel for finding an idol an keeping it secret with that funeral speech/ using shot in the dark to gauge if she needed the idol. Q for all things Q of course scream vigilante. So i would enjoy a themed season like "Heroes v Villains v Vigilantes" if they really went for it.

This cast that would be better suited to 'part 1' of S50. Jeff has said that Survivor 50 will be a year long celebration so have two games of Survivor playing simultaneously thinking they are the the only players. S1-30 on one island S31-50 on another. After 13 days at the merge, surprise both merge groups by putting them together to a battle to the finish over 26 days. This gives you a 39 day season. It gives you players from every era given a chance to shine within their own era, and allows the cream of the crop to battle it out at a point where they are battle hardened. And gives the mother of all survivor twists that will amaze and excite both players and audiences in S50.

I’m never a fan of having winners on a regular All Stars so for me I wouldn’t include any for 50 (another WAW or even Winners v non winners maybe) and I do like some of the 30s cast but for me I like the idea of the whole show rebooting from season 41, everything before it being separate. I watch Survivor, Big Brother and The Challenge … I don’t think all stars work well for Big Brother but I think it works for Survivor very well and I also think Survivor could get away with 3 straight seasons of return… I say season 48 they do a “best of pre merge boots” season, and season 49 they do a “best of jurors” season and then season 50 they do a full on all stars. Make it like 30 people, 3 teams of 10 and the first 5 councils are all double boots. They can use season 48 and 49 under these formats I mentioned to make some all stars for 50

I may be in the minority here but I don’t care how good or bad a player is sometimes, I care more if they’re interesting and entertaining to watch. Every once in a while, I’ll take a tribe of Jelinskys and Phillip Sheperds over a tribe of Rob and Sandras. Maybe that’s blasphemous but I like what I like. Give me chaos.

I'm not sure if it's very likely at all, but I'd love to see a season with the best to never win, especially after the last milestone season was the best to ever win. 20 legends, some perhaps for the final time, getting one more chance to finally become a Sole Survivor. (Although while going with only multi-time contestants would make for a more experienced cast, they should probably allow one-timers who came up just short in order to at least give a shot to the best non-winners since Game Changers.) I feel like that could make for a thrilling 50th season, although of course there's many other good Season 50 ideas like this one right here. (And hey, even if "One More Chance"/"Best of the Rest" never becomes a reality, at least I can hold out hope for Second Chance 2 at some point, right?)

I can see Sabiyah being a fun out of left field type pick for a cast like this. Also if they choose Caleb it’d be a fun storyline to have with those two being back together especially if Emily doesn’t want to return.

I definitely agree that those 30’s players need to get another chance, but I kind of want to see 50 be a strictly New Era All-Stars. I don’t envision that’s the route they’ll go, just my preference. I also would love to see Carson back from 44, best player from that season imo.

Rick devons and andy are definitely on the top of my list to return! I would love to see venus, emily and kaleb. And call me crazy, I'd like to see Sam from 47 return too! He already played a great game and didnt do anything revolutionary, so he probably doesnt need to return, but i think he just had such great game sense the whole time, and he should still be considered

If I were making up a season of Survivor, I would pick a season where all the contestants were the first person voted out in their season. I would work back chronologically from the most recent season. my reasoning is that even the first person voted out each season was picked as someone the producers thought had a chance to win. Very likely those people were, for the most part, very unlucky. It would be interesting to create a season where those people had a chance - - at least some of them - - to show what they could really do.
