Some ideas for the meter: Instead of being locked out of spending meter/health for the entire first round, have it be for the first 10-15 seconds of every round. In addition, have an emergency boost icon similar to the OG SNES game that you could either spend on a Burst-esque mechanic, or use when on low health for a Desperation Super. Also a Roman-Cancel mechanic would fit well with this concept.

Finally! Someone else saw how sick an F-Zero fighting game would be and best of all they know how to code it! In my mind I’ve always imagined it being like rival schools in the sense that that the stages are 10 miles long but the characters run and jump at Mach 2 to compensate for it. Also that each fighter could call in their car as an assists to basically run over their opponent

What engine will you be using, I am going to assume not IKEMEN since it's rather niche, but people who are familiar with MUGEN programming can work it just fine. I've had a similar idea but with Animal Crossing characters, chiefly because I want to see Mr. Resetti shouting and swinging his pickaxe around like he's Khan from HFTF, the famous yellow cat will be in it too.
