The relative power of many overclocks really need to be adjusted. 3 beams is way better on the shard difractor. It's a 300% damage boost AND stacks applied compared to the 150% damage boost and negative lifetime mod. And this is far from the only weapon where this is the case. It was hard to see the damage ticks and numbers, but they did look quite high to me both. Might have easily been ticking more than twice per second and i do believe i saw damage numbers between 4 and 7k last stage.

I think that Unstable Overclock you got for the Shard Diffractor should also increase the width of the beam. So the choice of more beams or one wider beam.

Plasma is how I beat this map on haz 5 my first time. You mentioned it pretty much, but the hurricane is awesome too. I love the hurricane. Its a real good feel from risk of rain and risk of rain 2, where the missiles start firing and they dont stop.

When plasma weapons have piercing, do they bounce AND pierce at each hit, or do they only bounce off the last bug after piercing? If it's bounce AND pierce, they you're basically getting a projectile splitter...

its the latter. i play plasma often and always go pierce overclocks. the bolt pierces several and than bounces off the last one and expires on the next hit. Otherwise the drak and the Shotgun with plasma would be completely broken.

Last time I played the Shard Diffractor it deals damage per tick (approx 10 frames, so 6 times per second).

Isnt better to have a short lifetime with the shard difractor so that the aiming point moves more often?

With the ammount of twins i get on my runs i start to think there must be a bug in the code, a missing or missplaced comma for the chances perhaps? its like 9 out of 10 runs where i get the twins. I miss the old big boy by now.

i think they need to change the shard dfractor mechanic. with how hard to get extra beam upgrade because you have to sacrifice other upgrade for high level LUCK

Your numbers at the end for the diffractor are misleading, because you only had one beam. It would have been doing multiplicatively more damage for each additional beam had you taken those overclocks, instead of the more support-oriented choices you made.

How do weapon range increases affect the breach cutter / shard difractor?

It makes the BC beams go further (depending upon pierces of course) and it makes the SD go THROUGH the "end point" and allows you to get further from that point before it prematurely expires due to being out of range of the end point.

You forgot about the plasma carbine which is way better than the grenade.

yes, but the engi cant get the Drak. Its only for scout and gunner. but the scout cant have the heavy weapons and the gunner has no plasma on his starter weapons. so each ar stuck with 3 plasma. The engi is the only one that can have 4 plasma.
