The moon is a natural satellite. The Earth has 2 natural satellites. Its actually a near-Earth asteroid, so we can say that "Earth has two moons."

Or you can rip apart a planet by making it orbit close to it and tidal forces will rip apart the planet having a chance of forming an acreation disk

The planet that crashed to earth is the size of mars and called Theia it was a planet the came to earth to orbit but 2hours later it collided to earth and formed a ring of debris and a few Years later.. The Moon was formed
