Good to see you again Justin. I am a novice gardener and learning a lot on the creation of a new garden. Thank you.

Congratulations Justin on reaching 12K subscribers! I love shopping for season end bargain plants. Some of my best-looking plants I purchased in the fall at 50-75% off. Looking forward to seeing your new beds in the spring.

Thank you James, we did it and we've gone a little bit more now. I'm really pleased. I think the Garden Centres rely on people buying because they like the look of a plant, then we come along and buy those which look dead but are better than all the others ;-)

Hi Justin 😊 Finally!! I've been trying to sit and enjoy this video for a good week at least, I'm sure, but it's been a really busy period - and I didn't want to half-watch it with one eye while doing something else 😅 The new garden is taking shape beautifully so your back-breaking work is paying off, and the roses you bought will look amazing there! I did chuckle at your Sexy Rexy story 😂🤣 Thank you so much for the horse manure info - I got a few sacks of it a few months ago, but then I wasn't sure what to do with it so there the bags sit 😳🙈 I was also scared it would bring a lot of weeds - will it? 😳 I'm not looking for extra work... 😝 I'm glad you got some plant bargains too!! 😄😁 And peonies too, I love their blooms. Plants are not cheap so that's always such a treat! Have a lovely weekend and you take good care too.I see you have reached 12k subscribers - we'll done 😃🌺

it is that time of year, everything seems to be frantic but I'm trying to keep my cool and maintain everything just right. So much more to do in the garden but we have until March/April to get there then the whole cycle starts again. The horse manure is usually ok if is is very well rotted and has got to a high temperature whilst rotting which kills the weed seeds. I made the mistake of having some and it hadn't been, so my garden was full of weeds, nettles and rubbish all summer! Thanks re. the 12,000 hope we get to 20,000 this summer! I've bought more plants, to go with the other plants. I will have no room for them all one day!!

I really enjoyed watching this video, Justin! I love the new beds you've made using the bricks - how do you manage to keep them from coming loose and falling over?
@justinthegardenerАй бұрын
Thank you! As long as they have soil behind them and are not too tall they should be alright, I call them rustic walls! They are old bricks and we didn't want to spoil them with cement in-case they were needed for repairs/additions to the house. They'll look very different soon once I've 'dressed' them :-)

@@justinthegardener Thanks for explaining this, Justin! I must say that I really love the look of the old bricks - it's a brilliant way to recycle them and, at the same time, keep them available for other projects should they be needed. It's a brilliant idea!

@anadecozar9562 They are really nice to look at, and once they're there they look like they have been there for a long time. They were all stacked behind the hedge so we might as well stack them and make use of them. I'm always keen to use the resources we have before getting new things 🙂

I've become addicted to David Austin roses Justin. I was lucky enough to go to the gardens in Shropshire when we were on holiday this year. So hard choosing which ones to buy as I wanted them all! It'll be great to see what yours look like next year. I'd only heard of The Lark Ascending. The other two were new to me. Take care. x

They are rather, aren't they. I have six pots of new ones waiting to go in the front garden, it's going to become a Rose Dell, and they were half price so I couldn't resist them! Would love to visit DA Roses one day, Lark Ascending is a beautiful piece of music, not sure if you've ever heard it :-)

Well, i will be on the hunt to find "Sexy Rexy" 😅. I felt for you digging. i need a pick axe for my soil. Love the way you used the bricks. I am looking forward to seeing the progress. Thank you for sharing.

Haha, the poor lady wish she had never asked, but I will never tell a lie, I told all her friends too which was amusing lol That area of the garden has a rubbish dump underneath it, old bricks, rubble, tiles and random junk so the soil is quite thin. I feel for you too having to dig with a pick axe!
