Good video tutorial Mitch. At 7:34 select Meters as the Revit Unit import and the scale comes through correct.

Thanks Jason! I found that out just after I published the video, changing it to meters brings it through perfectly!

i think exporting IMX file to Civil 3d, while using correct geolocation, and linking dwg file in Revit is better option, because: 1) you can copy geolocation from Civil 3d and Infraworks 2) you can format surface in Civil 3d by adding more countorus (just by editing surface properities), so easily adding more points to surface 3) there's still some work to do in Revit, but it's simpler than in this video - that's just my opinion

Thank you for video. What about the precision of the topography in Infraworks compare to real one?
@ModenaTechnologies6 жыл бұрын
Hi Bakyt, Sorry for the delayed response, I have just got back to the office. That is a test that I have not been able to do at this stage, I have done some comparisons from google maps/earth to infraworks topography and the accuracy seems to be very good. The only thing I am unsure about is the vertical height of the site, that will need to be tested.
@bakytorazymbet36906 жыл бұрын
@@ModenaTechnologies Hi, thanks for response. The later is better than none)) . So no matter. I realized that google earth maps take an average of the site topography and not so precise as the survey results. But at the concept development stage I think it is ok to use this topography.

to export topo it could be better to use rhino3D, you can change Z-orientation of topo and then "save as"

when i save in IW it saves it like separate files .obj, .pos and mtl. when i open formit it doesn't see them as the united .axm file for Formit. Can anyone tell me what is off?
@ModenaTechnologies5 жыл бұрын
Hi Xenia, What file type are you trying to export your IW section as? When you are defining your region that you would like to export, make sure you set it to.OBJ in the export options in InfraWorks
@xeniasergeeva64565 жыл бұрын
Modena Cape Town I did do that, yet in your video it results in a single file and mine doesn’t for some reason - a few (one of them obj)
@ModenaTechnologies5 жыл бұрын
@@xeniasergeeva6456 Hi there, I am not too sure about this then, maybe it has something to do with the later versions of InfraWorks that you might be using? Every time I export I get the one file that I am after. I would recommend doing some experimentation with your export options until you find what works for you.
