This is the simplest way to build a raised planter. This is a great project to do with your kids at home. Total project cost are about $20. Plans: www.ana-white.com/woodworking...

Made this for my elderly in-laws at their waist height so they didn't have to bend or get on their knees to plant 😀Thanks Ana

This is a fabulous project! I cut out the lumber and printed directions and provided screws to make six kits for my 4-H kids...they had such fun putting together the planters together with a parent. They all planted 'pollinator gardens' as a 4-H project. Thanks for this!

Perfect! You have an elevated raised bed plan on your website which my teenage son used for his Eagle project. He and his troop made multiple units for our city's community garden, so to be accessible to gardeners who couldn't bend to the ground. Now these plans are great for my size yard, and not as large as your other plans. Thank you. This is just what I needed!

Thank you so much Ana. I just made two of these yesterday out of scrap pallet wood I had laying around the workshop. Now everyone wants one. I did make mine 34" high instead of the 24" just because I didn't want to bend over as much. I love your plans. Thank you again for giving me something to do during this trying time.

Do you find that it’s sturdy at that height?

You might want to install inexpensive casters or rollers to the bottom the legs. This will enable you to roll the planter in and out of the garage or indoor seedling area in the Spring. Enabling you to harden off seedlings in the outdoor sun, but rolling them indoors in the cool Spring evenings. The wheels would also enable you to turn the box into various positions for sun exposure.

Hi Ana! It was nice watching your joint project. Such a "helper" is a real treasure! I know something about it ... I write this as a dad of a three-year-old child. And every moment together is a gift of God! Let there be as many such moments as possible!

Thank you so much for this one. It's a solution to a problem I had with finding the right container for my back deck to grow salad greens.

I am so happy with how this turned out. For the legs I used pine wood and for the sides I used cedar fence pickets. For the liner I used plastic window screen material to improve drainage. I stained the whole thing and decorated the sides with some tin decor such as hummingbirds, flowers, dragon flys and butterflies. It looks great and is just the right size! Again, many thanks for this great video! 😎👍🏻 🌱🌼🏵️

Always good to see creators make videos with them building with their kids. It looks like he really enjoyed it, and I know that you did as well. Great build, and love the simplicity of it. Makes me want to build a few of those for a quick garden in the back yard. Thank you, Ana!

Someone made it at 34” tall instead of her 24”. I am actually going to go with that. Any taller I would use a 2x3 or 2x4

I live in Virginia and Home Depot and Lowe's don't stock cedar wood here. When you can find it, the price is very high. What other types of wood would be best for this project? Thanks and fun video!
@josieloveyou26244 жыл бұрын
CLTserendipity maybe cypress. They sell that at Lowe’s and Home Depot

Should a person pre-drill the holes?

Self tapping,means no pre drill ?

Yep, that's the idea. Works best in soft woods like pine or cedar.
