Deer funnels are one of the best places to hunt on a property and one of the easiest habitat improvements to create. A deer funnel will instantly become one of your favorite stand locations on a property.

Your tips and tricks are spot on. I’m a deer hunter with over 55 years of experience and everything you’re teaching is exactly how it works. Great video and you earn yourself a sub. Thanks for all the reminders.

I cleared a large mixed cedar thicket for a plot. Used the trees stacked in windrows to direct deer movement. Worked like a champ. Had to go around completely or enter within bow range of my bow stands set up for prevailing wind.

I love doing that! Have to put the brush somewhere, might as well put it where it helps you funnel the deer.

I live in NE Iowa I love the 3rd rut. Always the last part of our late muzzleloader season that ended the 10th. Usually have snow but warm this year. Good video

Thanks! I'm glad someone else has heard of the 3rd rut. I was worried people would think I was just making it up.

@Hobby Harvest definitely a fact. It's the reason the brown It's down hunters have 2 rub the spots off some deer. My neighbor let's a group hunt that shoot them. He doesn't hunt so doesn't mind. Kinda sucks that there's plenty of deer around that they don't need 2. They also shoot small bucks. Everyone hunts different and I don't own the property over there so my hands are tied

Great video, thanks for sharing. I recently found your channel, joined and find it to be very simple and straight forward with great information. I have owned property and have been hunting deer for over 30 yrs., but it is always great to listen to good info even if you are already doing it. I harvested my target deer this year, a nice 4yr. old employing some of these exact techniques. Thanks, Bob SW WI

Great video! In the process of buying 140 acres in western wi and gonna be turning in multiple areas that are currently cropland into bedding/funnels. I’m curious what all is behind you? I would like to replicate that where I currently have the ag and think that would be Prime deer bedding. Also gonna be planting switch/ connivers for diversity

Congrats on the land, I hope everything works out. Behind me is a small wetland creek valley that goes up to that big mature oak tree immediately over my left shoulder. The trees you can see coming into frame on either side are boxelder and most of the shrubs are red osier dogwood. There's various other assorted species in there as well. It's harder to get those going in a well drained area but I have a solid stand flourishing on top of a well drained hill so it is possible.
