ok so i've been doing on and off concrete craft for like three years now. Like, very small scale, i'm only on my second 25kg bag at the moment (although i am nearing depletion of my cementitious grout bag which i found to be great for casting). I like grinding to expose the aggregate. Lately i've been encountering two issues that seems to be related: 1. Some of the objects i create, when i grind them, they do the opposite of getting smooth - some aggregate gets ripped off, and what doesn't just sticks out because the concrete around it was grinded faster than the aggregate. 2. I have grinding blocks in grit 50-3000. I used to be able to make my concrete super smooth. Now, for some reason, it just refuses to get smooth. Stays like 100 grit. I assume you'd know the reason for this noob problem of mine... I've only recently discovered this channel and i'm loving vibe and the info. thank you and keep on the good work!

Ypu have to wait until the concrete is fully cured, minimum of 30 days to be able to sand / polish. Otherwise the cement is weak. Instead of sanding / shearing / exposing the aggregates like sand, the cement let's go of the grain of sand leaving a tiny pock mark hole. You can not polish fresh concrete.

@@creatingconcrete Thank you for your help! you're so nice!! I suspected my that is my problem, but i thought maybe i'm incorrect cuz in the past i used to be able to polish it actually quite quickly after demolding. I used to demold after 24hrs. now i demold after two weeks. Ugh, i guess i will wait more. Turns out creating concrete is dependent on creating patience!

Your vlogs are very informative. Thank you. Can I correct you. If I'm not mistaken, the white melamine coated board is chip board and not MDF.
