It's so refreshing to see someone use their brain instead of just forking out $$$ to repair something that anyone with common sense can do themselves

Nice repair....I make this kind of repair using a thin strip of cloth soaked in epoxy which I wrap around the break. To keep the butt joint together until the epoxy repair sets, I use instant glue in the butt joint. I have also used fiberglass cloth for large repairs, such as a scissors handle repair. I like your idea because it does a better job cosmetically hiding the repair. The glasses I repair are usually reading glass and the epoxy repair is pretty easy to blend/hide if desired. Sometimes, glasses break at a lens frame which is thin and can't be wrapped so I take a small, thin piece of cloth soaked in epoxy to lay over the break. I am a new subscriber......thanks for the great ideas you provide!!!!

When you melt plastic the results is a more weaker spot where the glasses broke. It’s not gonna last and I’ll break way easier. I have done it myself 😮
