I was very hesitant to buy a Cricut this Black Friday but figured I had to learn it to do the projects I want to do; so it's been sitting in a box for a month and then I found videos on Brother's Scan & Cut and decided that ease of use is worth the investment; got an RMA number for the Cricut last night and bought my Brother SDX85M today. I'm anticipating its arrival, this one won't be left sitting in a box!

Thank you for the video My scan n cut dx 125 comes in today alone with the roll feeder I have scan n cut 2 and never can get the blade to the right setting to cut this dx is going to make crafting so much easier I do a lot of cutting paper for a nursing home that we do crafts and this is gong to help me prep all my project so fast and all the elders with have to do is glue the paper together

I wish you would do a video explaining what all the different icons mean. I don't understand what they do and so it takes me a long time and many mistakes to do what you make look so easy.. I just bought the scan n cut machine, The self adjusting blade is still cutting into my mat.

Hi! Thanks for this video. Is the only difference between the sdx125 and sdx85maui the preset designs? As far as I can tell they both scan and cut up to 3mm with autoblade. So I’m trying to figure out the $50 price difference. Thanks!!

What materials can it cut? Not just the thickness, what types of surfaces? It's the one bit of information I haven't found anywhere. And I just needed to watch to 12:20. This is the first time I have seen the stack of materials. Even their own website hasn't been listing them. With that stack, the Scan and Cut DX went to the top of my wish list. So.. one more question. Does it draw and if so, are the pens it uses limited? If it can draw using a variety of pens and not just ones specifically for it, it will be at the top of my need now list. (and my birthday is in February *laugh*)

I love, love, love this machine! I've wanted one forever and it just wasn't the right time for me to purchase one....until now and oh how happy I am to have waited for this newer version BUT.....now I'm seeing on reviews that the paper feeder is not loading properly, even with a brand new mat. I've seen this actually demonstrated on different you tube channels and find it quite disturbing. Even more disturbing is hearing the demonstrator say that brother has not helped with the problem😱 This is very disappointing to me so I am back on the fence of purchase. I was wondering if you know anything about this glitch and if so would you address it for your viewers. I love your videos! The ones with you and Greg are especially funny! TFS!💕

Hi Dianna, I have one of these machines; since the auto update ran I have not had any issues with my mat loading it happened periodically before the update but not enough to be an issue and I do use my machine alot; Hannah also has a machine and doesnt have any issues; we also found before the update that scanning in a well lit room vs a dark room made a difference but since the update is hasnt happened to either of us at all; as always just our opinions and experiences

I have burned enough money on supplies that were not quite ready for market or even worse, no longer supported. I am so hopeful and excited about the scan and cut dx! I had seen an older version of the Scan N Cut and it left an edge all around the design..that turned me off right there, but I thought you said with this one it cuts the actual precise size.....am I correct?? Also I just want to make sure that it would cut wool, this would be perfect for wool penny rugs if it does....and all without changing the blade, right?? When is this machine going to be available??......I Want one!!

49Nutmeg x. The machine is available now. I purchased mine from HSN. The amount of edge around the cut image can be adjusted to no extra edge. I’m not sure what the most edging it can cut. If it cuts balsa wood and felt, I would think it would cut wool. Yes, the blade is self adjusting. Check out other videos of Julie on the DX.

Hi, you can adjust to cut everything from inside the line, to on the line to outside the line you set the distance you want it to cut; i have also put a link to the machine in the description where you can buy now with free shipping :-)

When I purchased my scan n cut DX 125 I didn’t realize all of the features weren’t included. Although it has many great functions it does not include them all which is a let down considering the cost. I never hear about this when it’s being demoed. Tell me I’m wrong.

I am strongly considering this machine. I am a card maker and general crafter and soooo want to play more with vinyl. My only concern is the cost and cost of accessories. Also can you give me some idea as to the longevity of the cutting mat? Thank you. Saving my pennies :)

Hi Jan, these mat's definitely last longer than the others; I use my machine alot and a mat last me 4-6 months; I also extend me mats even long with temporary adhesive runners, sprays and masking tape

Ok, this is exciting! I can even overcome my "this is great but too darned complicated to wrap my overloaded brain around" attitude. I can cut my Graphic 45 papers with this DX. This is the Scan N Cut for me! Julie and Alexandra are also great together! And heads up to G45 design teams: why don't you sell cut files for the papers? I would love to use them to make it even easier. My eyesight is no longer sharp enough to do complex fussy cutting, and I really don't want to have to learn how to do that on this machine, no matter how easy it is.
