Detective Comics (DC) made Deathstroke, aka Wade Wilson. Super serious character with a dark story. At the time, Marvel had been copying DC for a few years already, and DC had sued them, to no avail. Marvel decided to get them one last time when they made Deadpool, which is literally just taking the look and sassy attitude of Spider-Man, and crossing it with Deathstroke, the gunman who prefers twin swords. So yeah, it's pretty ridiculous

@Jjk.aotfan139 it's Marvel we're talking about here. They had a blatant copycat streak for like 8 consecutive years back in the comics code era, and it wasn't something they ever hid from public view. They have always been the "family friendly" version of DC in every conceivable way. I would not be surprised at all if they lied for the record, and then turned around and blatantly made their own references about it, as a way to taunt DC. Honestly, them being bought by Disney is like Cinderella going and buying her own shoe back. Lol

@Jjk.aotfan139 I realized I forgot the most basic facts to point out. Slade Wilson was a mercenary with a bad attitude and he never laughs or smiles, for any reason. Wade Wilson was made only a year or two later, and he's a mercenary, except he smiles all the time, and finds everything funny when it's serious. See the connection? Lol -edit: exactly ten years after Slade Wilson, Wade Wilson was born. And at the time, DC was already suing for breach of copyright
