A recording of the second event of our Tokenomics, A New Economy of Art series: CREATIVE INTERDEPENDENCE, first broadcast 19th January 2022.
ABOUT
The token-based economies of blockchain are inspiring artists to greater autonomy and could rewrite the rules of the traditional art world - bringing artists and supporters together as co-creators, tastemakers and funders.
Join vanguards rethinking the rules of the game, including artists Ameer Suhayb Carter, Sarah Friend and curator Michail Stangl who will shine a light on the ever-growing number of emerging approaches.
Together they will celebrate the successes such as the emergence of fan-based cooperatives using DAOs to commission and fund BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ creators. And ask important questions such as;
Can token-based systems account for the messiness of human collaboration?
What relationship, if any, might fan-based and institutional curation have in these emergent economies?
And how much do the emerging models still depend on attention economies of web2?
