I do power layouts as well but wanted to see what other people do. Turns out I do it very similar to yours where I put the layout guides on the table, divide my photos, place on the guides, then look for corresponding cardstock/patterned paper, etc. We even stack the same way, but I haven't used the floor yet. What a great idea! I just stack them up, put them aside, and make another pile. Thank you for sharing your video! Nicely done. I was sucked into watching the entire thing.

Great tips. I have been going through my grandparents and our pictures. My grandparents passed several years back and had boxes of photos and a lot of albums in their closet. Since there are so many photos on both sides of the family I am wanting to do 3 albums. One on my grandfather's side, one on my grandmother's side, and then one starting with them married and their family (which includes my Dad's childhood). I haven't really worked on it lately but I hope to soon. I have been transcribing WW2 letters of theirs and after that I hope to go through the pictures again as well as the negatives with my film scanner because I noticed that there are a lot of negatives that I have never seen printed. You are also right about the enormous amount of photos you don't need. So many duplicates and so many bad pictures. Thanks again for this video.

@@TheLazyScrapbooker Wanted to give an update. I still haven't started on the albums yet. Still trying to organize pictures. I did finish transcribing all of the WW2 letters. There were a total of 772. I did go through all of my grandparents negatives and scanned most all of them. I tossed some of the bad ones and I plan to print some of the ones that I had never seen before. There were pictures of my Dad and his siblings and cousins and even pictures of my grandparents and great grandparents that I had never seen before and no one in my family has seen them either. Do you have any sample family albums that you might could show in future? I greatly appreciate any tips or ideas because I am still stuck at where to start. Some relatives are looking through pictures too, but I want to go ahead and get started while I can. Thanks again!

@@jacoblawrence6580 Wow - 772 letters! That is amazing work you've been doing. Keep working on the organization. I think that's the most difficult or time consuming part. Let me see what I can come up with for examples. I am so happy to hear the progress you're making.

@@TheLazyScrapbooker Hi. Wanted to give an update. I am in still in the process of organizing things from time to time. I haven't gone through much of the older things lately. I am thinking of doing an album for me from birth to high school and later do one for each of my parents. After that I hope to do more on the older photos of my grandparent's and great grandparents. Not sure how I will do all of it. There are tons of photos from the late 1800's all the way up to present day. Love watching your videos. If you happen to come across albums of older family members (pictures from 80's and 90's) would you mind doing a flip through video? Thanks in advance.

I have 3 of them going at all times & can just do a page or 2 in as little as 10 minutes....i even keep my tape runner in it if i have the room..sometimes i pack them full.i definitely use postit notes that way i remember just what i was going to do with the papers or tools needed....you really CAN get an album completed in a few hours. And start another one! Yayee! Power layouts ROCK!
