Id like to see more fx in the digi lineup in general. I never understood why there’s not considering how powerful CPUs have become and how abundant memory is now.

wow, this is a really clever idea! totally makes sense and might inspire me in the future to fuck with low frequency to create distortion. great idea, Dave! However, I still don't feel that this technique can be used in a live and improvisational setting. Seems like too much routing and listening. The dancers don't want me finding my distortion tone, they want me to chance the fucking beat already!

Cool enjoy :) Depends a bit on how you improvise I'd say. If you improvise everything including sequencing then detailed live sound designing is not a great idea indeed :). But you can totally set up certain patterns and certain gain staging and sounds to create an interesting overdriven groove :) you can prepare for this for sure. I use these kind of sound design techniques to create interesting grooves and improvise the arrangement live. It opens lots of creative options. I never dial this kind of thing in in a live situation but rather prepare for the effect it has on a groove and play that live. Hope that makes sense. But ymmv of course ! Totally depends on how you like to improvise

I agree. It is a gentle overdrive ! 😂 I have a couple of guitars distortions, including Analog Drive and Boss MT2 to compare with.

​@@wiliwowmusic1625Ive got oto baum and analog heat here and believe me, syntakt can crush just as much. I just did not go that far in this video as the goal was not to demonstrate complete destructive noise. Simply combine track overdrives and push loud through the FX block and you can get all the Mayhem that you'd like. I know a few artists that create insane industrial techno just with syntakt with heavy distortion. Like I said, it's not that syntakt is gentle, it's just that you need to learn how to push syntakt into that zone.

⁠Please make a video pushing settings ! I had Heat and Boum, I maxed all possible settings and don’t like the results. But I will try again. ;)
