In the past, I used several of Creative's THX-Certified internal Sound Blaster cards along with several THX-certified Logitech speakers. The sound quality was incredible.

I still use it today. I had an X-Fi Xtremer Gamer, SBZ, today I have an AE-7 + z607, old games with EAX and the audio is amazing! And for recent games too. In addition to great quality for music. And for movies it doesn't sound bad either. The only thing missing was HDMI. And yes, no optical connection, that limits the sound card.

The second usb-c is not for pluging a digital microphone. Its for outputting sound from a second system

I have a Schitt Stack for my HD600s a Dac for PC is so much easier on the ear. Also check pawn shops for Dacs. Good one today CT.

It should via the HDMI ARC. That is what I also would be using this for along with PC gaming. I always watch movies with headphones. So if this works properly outputting Dolby digital 5.1 to headphones for nice surround. This will be very nice indeed.
