Hi Kurt, great observation and question. The owner is going through foreclosure because he can't afford the bond repayments. This is his motivation to sell and allows Mncedi to negotiate a big discount. During phase 1 Mncedi paid the owner R700k. From the proceeds of that transaction, the father has the funds to pay occupational rent at R9k until the son has the capability to repurchase the property. I hope that makes sense?
